Ms. Fun Bunch Posted November 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I sailed on the Nowegian Breakaway Nov. 2-9, 2014. Although I had a wonderful time on the cruise the casino was awful!!!! I never won more than $50.00 the whole time on the cruise and I played for hours!!

Grandpaul Posted November 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2014 I've been on the Breakaway twice and really liked the casino. Of course, one of the cruises was it's maiden voyage so maybe they were loose. But I play more table games than slots.

CasinoCruzGirl Posted November 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2014 (edited) I was on the break away last March and people were hitting all over the place saw one woman hit $4000 on a penny machine playing $.45 a spin. Also saw quite a few video poker winners I'm heading back on the breakaway in just nine days can't wait. And actually last week there was a post on FB about a woman who hit $5000 on quickhits machine on the breakaway Edited November 21, 2014 by FootballParent

I never won more than $50.00 the whole time on the cruise and I played for hours!! I saw your post before my cruise last week on the Breakaway and I didn't respond because on my previous 2 cruises on the Breakaway in March and October, I had a different experience than you did. I didn't ultimately win, but had plenty of play time on the slots for my money and didn't blow my entire budget. However, the cruise last week was just as you described. Each hundred dollar bill went poof....gone. Again and again and again. I brought a sizable amount with me and barely lasted to the last day!!! I have a CTN booked on the Breakaway in January and I'm wincing at the thought of it.

Mikkar Posted December 10, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2014 That sucks........ I'm going NYE, I hope it's not that bad. What did you play? did you see others win? did you play VP? I played a lot of different slots but not VP. I saw only 2 people hit a jackpot ( both approx. $1,000) all week and one was a quarter machine and the other was a dollar machine. I play mostly pennies but did try quarters and dollars when the pennies weren't hitting. I hope that NCL loosens up the slots before your NYE cruise. I have had a trip like that on the Epic never sailed her again. My last Gem one night cruise was bad too I never hit a thing, nothing to keep me playing like you said just kept making a deposit my right arm started hurting from putting the money in UGH. I hope they loosen up too. I do like the casino on the BA, my last trip in June I hit jackpots to keep me playing. I still lost but had a great time. So for me it was a great trip. I will let you know when I return Full report! If its still that bad I will be booking RCCL after the 2 night cruise I already booked in January. I have never been on RCCL. Only NCL so far. My friend went on RCCL a few months ago she left the ship up $7000. She go a free cruise offer a month later. I use an outside host to book thru CAS, He will be going on RCCL if he says they are good I will give them a try. He would have comped me a cabin to go with his group but I will be on the BA that week.

CasinoCruzGirl Posted December 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted December 15, 2014 Ok what am I missing limmie? Let me in on the action lol The casino on the breakaway last week was a very sad affair it was so bad we lost our a$$es. Not anything like my first time. I'm a glutton for punishment. Rebooked for May but thinking of switching to the gem. How's the gem casino compared to the breakaway.

Once established, do they offer you free cruises?[/QUOI have to answer this, No, RCCL will not give you any free anything. You do not use your SS card like Carnival, so have to use cash. They have no way to keep track of your wins or losses. I had my first 5 cruises on RCCL, and then found Carnival! I have done two RCCL cruises after that, and still go back to the big C. Much better casino's. I will never cruise with RCCL again. Cash taken out in the casino is at a hefty 5% fee. (with RCCL)

totalee Posted December 17, 2014 #23 Share Posted December 17, 2014 I just got off of Norweigian Sun and ended up over 1k ahead all on slots so NCL was good to me. I got the red card had two free dinners at restaurants each with a free bottle of wine, got chocolates to the room a few times A bottle of wine for my birthday too. The bar service in casino was excellent half the time, non existent the other times. At the end of the cruise they credited me $100 to my onboard spending account. So all in all a great experience. Unfortunately an NCL "Free" cruise still costs a few hundred after different fees. Carnival though gives free cruises that are really much free er. they only charge port fees usually less than $100 they will send you chocolates once or twice and one bottle of wine, unless you win big then you may get an extra bottle that night. They will give you Casino Cash $100 for 5 day cruises and 2-500 on longer cruises the day you board the boat. I have been splitting my trips between then lately, If I had stuck to just one I may have moved up to a better tier and get better offers from one, but maybe not from the other. LOVINCRUIZIN Posted December 26, 2014 #24 Share Posted December 26, 2014 RCCL "invites" you to be part of their casino rewards program. They make offers, but are significantly cheaper than Carnival. One trip I was give $850, but the next was $250, which prompted me to switch to Carnival. I have heard great things about NCL, but so far have not had a reason to leave Carnival (even after losing for 14 days straight last week and the week before on the Breeze  ). On Breeze 2 weeks ago there were two slot jackpots over $20K each. The way I see it, I just booked the Splendor (my favorite Carnival ship) and have to go back to get some of my money back ;) Happy sailing and GOOK LUCK !
