Pier 35 to Airport transportation

When disembarking at Pier 35 Terminal, what is the best option to get to San Francisco Airport? Are shuttles and cabs located nearby without too much of a wait ?

 

Does it make sense to make a reservation ahead of time with a shuttle service or is it very easy to find transportation ??

Taxis are available. You could make a reservation with a shuttle service such as SuperShuttle and another option which I recommend is a private car and a subsidiary of SuperShuttle is Execucar.

Oops - I guess the NEW cruise terminal is at pier 27. (not pier 35)

Pier 27 is much more shuttle and/or cab friendly with a pull off area where they can park and wait. Your route to the airport can vary depending on your budget as well as your walking skills. There will be shuttles and cabs readily available to take you to SFO. Another option is a short cab ride to the nearest BART station and then a BART ride to SFO where it basically goes into the International terminal. If walking is an option and time not an issue it is an easy 0.9 mile jaunt down the Embarcadero to the Embarcadero BART station and then off to the airport. The only thing to avoid would be the F Streetcar along the Embarcadero to BART as the streetcars are Historic but not suitcase friendly.

Cab to the airport will run around $40. with tip. The closest BART station is across the street from the Hyatt Regency hotel, one block away from the Ferry Bldg. The SF BART station is underground and you will have to fight your suitcases on stairs going down.
