Hiring formal gear for male on RCCL - anyone done it?

Hi, you women have been so helpful on my previous post - but I thought I would put a new header on this one in case others have had this experience.

I am now convinced that my partner will have to spruce up a bit and am thinking of hiring a tux for him, as RCCL apparently do. But I can't find any info on the RCCL website - how do I know what types and sizes they have. Also when do you order it - no point in waiting till we get on there only to find they don't have his size or we hate what they offer. Has anyone got any experience with this?

We've never done the rental thing. We figured that it was more cost-effective to buy a tux since we knew we our first cruise wouldn't be our last. You may want to do some pricing around for buying a tux, they're not that expensive. He has a couple of different looks, a vest one night and a rhinestone stud in lieu of a tie for another.

Hi, thanks but its not the cost of buying a tuxedo, it's the fact that we have to lugg such a heavy and useless thing around the world for six weeks!

We've done it on all of our cruises and swear by it! Before you set sail...the tux magically appears in your cabin closet. After the 2nd formal night, hang it back in the bag, and voila!! it magically disappears! Perfect... Unfortunately I don't have the email or link for the company we used. Probably the one that is on the RCCL website.

Here's the information from RCCI's website about tuxedo rental. It's $85 USD for the whole cruise, which isn't a bad deal. My dad rents tuxes and they look great. Don't worry about the stuff concerning the wedding business. Just call your travel agent or RCCI and request the tux rental form. It's a good idea to get his measurements into RCCI at least a month before your cruise.

I've rented a tux for my son every year on Explorer. It works out perfectly! It's in our cabin when we arrive and picked up after the last formal night. (It comes with 2 shirts). I go to a local tux place and they give me the measurements. I then call the toll free number but you can do it online. If there's a problem with the size, I understand that there's a tailor onboard.
