Sky Early Disembarkation

A quick question to the Sky veterans. I see that Sky does offer walk-off disembarkation, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me what time it usually starts. We have done this on every other of our South Florida weekend cruises to date (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess), and to be honest with the lesser amount of luggage needed for a weekend hop, I wouldn't do it any other way. Since we live in South Florida, we like being able to walk off on a Monday morning and still get the kids to school (relatively) on time.

So what is the process like on the Sky? Any thoughts on what time we can realistically expect to get off the ship?

As always, thanks in advance for any feedback.

Right after suites and VIP's. It depends on when the ship is cleared. In a suite we have been able to get off as early as 7:45 or so up to as late as 10 am when there were Customs or arrival issues. They let early walk offs go right after we cleared Customs. Possibly you could be off by 8:15 or so if all goes well.

This is pretty standard on all NCL ships.

Thanks, although that's a little later than we're used to. Previously we were able to be off the various ships by 7:30, and in the car before 8. Although the last 3 times have been through Fort Lauderdale, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Not so much suites on the Sky. That should benefit.

Last week, friday morning, we picked up our rental car in downtown Miami at 8.15am after a short cab ride with no line at all. I think we got the all clear somewhere at 7.30am over the PA if I recall correctly. We left our oceanview stateroom around 7.45-50ish and we were not in a hurry, ship's elevators were the bottle neck (if there was one.. :) ), spent no more than a few minutes at passing ship's security checkout standing in line and CBP was also a two minute breeze.

Hope this helps!

I have never seen they let suite guests off any ship first. I was in a suite on Sky and had priority disembarkation. They just merge you into the front of the line of the other passengers disembarking. This has been my experience on other ships as well. I have never seen where only suite guests disembark and then they call other passengers.

Every cruise so far, line was held until all suite guests that wanted to get off. always first through customs. Always a lot of grumbling and cat calls from those standing on deck waiting to be first off. Escort by the concierge to the security post and we were always through customs before the stampede began behind us.

Seems like it would be kind of a non perk if they made you join the exodus?
