Got a question about this, hopefully I didn't look over the answer. On my next cruise, I'll be traveling with someone that will become platinum during cruise. I'm the one that booked it, so will I get to board with her as priority? Hope I made since lol

Yes, as long as one person in the cabin is Platinum, all those in the cabin get priority.

I am cruising next week with 3 newbies, I am platinum and they are not. We're all sharing one cabin. We will all be arriving separately to the port. Will they get priority embarkation even if I am not with them at embarkation?

Thanks in advance!

Did you pay for the whole room? If not, they will not get priority boarding or any other perk that comes with platinum.

I am Platinum, my mom is Red. I took her on a cruise at the beginning of November. She paid her own way and we shared a cabin. I printed separate boarding passes and both said PRIORITY on them.

So, yes, your cabin mates should get Priority embarkation.

This is why the Platinum/Diamond lounge has gotten so crowded. No one that is not a spouse should be allowed in that room..Dennis

We boarded the Miracle on 11/22. My DH, DD and I are platinum. The lounge was packed.

My dad and son are gold VIFP. They were checked in, on the ship and eating lunch while we were still in the lounge waiting.

Something really needs to change.

No, the reason that the lounge has gotten so crowded is that anyone with $50 can do FTTF and get priority boarding even if they've never been closer to the ocean than their bathtub. This is pure profit for Carnival - after all, everyone is going to get aboard anyway - and Carnival knows that any number of their passengers are so impatient that they will pay for something they are certain to get for free. Meanwhile, frequent cruisers...whom Carnival would have believe are valued customers entitled to a perk or two...get nothing. P.T. Barnum had it right: there's a sucker born every minute.

As long as priority doesn't guarantee that you'll actually get aboard before anyone else - see some of the other posts here - it baffles me why anyone would shell out perfectly good cash for FTTF.

And yes, the priority lounge on my last Breeze cruise was an absolute madhouse, and the natives were more than restless.....

It may depend on what port you're cruising out of, I've had FTTF twice out of Port Canaveral and we did not have access to the lounge but a separate area for those who purchased it! I don't consider myself to be a "sucker" for purchasing FTTF, I mainly get it to be able to go to my cabin after boarding to drop my carry-on off (due to health issues I prefer not to lug them around with me)and I like to get my luggage earlier so I can get unpacked before muster drill! It has nothing to do with getting aboard the ship faster!

On my Victory cruise in October, I went with 4 other coworkers.

I shared a room with 2 of them. We all payed separately.

They're boarding pass had PRIORITY, since we shared the same cabin. The other 2 did not have priority. Also, these were 2 separate reservations.

Upon entering the terminal, the Carnival rep escorted us thru the priority lane. He let the other 2 coworkers use the priority lane, since they were with me.

However, my other coworkers had to get their room keys with everyone else. Their keys were not in the Lounge.

But what mad it so funny, they had their keys and was on the ship before us. Lol!

You know it makes me laugh when I get to port and hear platinums talking about how they get on quicker than us common people. This last cruise I heard this and thought to myself "we'll see" Guess what we were on the ship with our Guys burgers and they showed up complaining about how long it took to get on the ship.

If you're checking in separately print individual boarding pass. They still should have the priority marking. Also ask for the FTTF Orange luggage stickers so your bags are the first ones to your cabin.

FTTF might be a good investment in this case. Platinums can get off after the self assist, but does not give priority tendering.

If a Platinum guest has others in his/her cabin they board with them. Inserting a qualifier about being a spouse is foolish. We cruise with our daughter, all three of us are platinum and she has a guest sail with her every time. That person board with us, as they should.

Want to avoid overcrowding in the lounges? Arrive early. I can be aboard having lunch in less than an hour after exiting the freeway in Galveston, and that's after parking the car.
