Rental car from FLL

Are there rental car returns near the port? We like to have freedom to drive around the day before.

And would like a nice hotel recommendation that doesn't have to be close to port.

Lago Mar is a nice hotel on the beach with FREE parking.

 

Sixt, Avis, and Budget have locations near the port.

In addition to the above:

 

Embassy Suites (nice enough for many of us)

 

Thrifty/Dollar just out side the PE terminal gate and actually the closest rental company.

While the Thrifty/Dollar just outside the PE gate has usually given us a great rate..Just this past October I actually got a better rate from Budget through Costco.

 

Budget is on the opposite side of the street and down from Embassy Suites towards the ocean in a shopping center...very small office in a shopping area strip mall. Easy to find.

We always fly in early, stay at a hotel within walking distance of this Budget office, (but taxis are relatively inexpensive), and rent from them. When you return the car, they have a free shuttle to the port (or at least the did the previous times we rented).
