We plan to cruise Alaska during the first 2 weeks in September of 2015.

Seward to Vancouver.

What kind of temperatures can we expect and could it be very rainy...?

I know that the weather can be VERY unpredictable... Just some guidelines, please.

Thanks.

Jasjas.

A good start would be to check a weather web site for historical weather data for the ports you are visiting at the times you will be there. A lot of people will tell you what THEY experienced, but that doesn't mean you will have the same. I have't been in September, but I have read a very wide range of reports in reviews here. You should be well prepared for just about anything.

September is the month it's probably the hardest to determine what weather is like. It is a transition month from summer to fall. You can expect temps in the low 50's to high 80's during the day and temps near 35 during the night.

Yes , look at a historical site like

The only sure thing that can be stated is the lack of daylight. By the second week, it is dark at 7pm.

I have sailed multiple times first week of Sept, including this year. Overall, I've always had some rain. But this year, was quite good weather 2 of the 3 weeks. :)

The bottom line is- you are best to be WELL prepared for a wide range of weather. No way to predict anything. It can be rainy- it was most every day the last week of August. IF you are going to be outside during your sailing it can be cold, with the need for a lined jacket, hat and gloves (which is my standard Alaska Uniform anyway).
