Back From Getaway 11/29

I'll post a full review when I get time but just wanted to comment on what an excellent week it was all in all. The food was probably the best I've had on NCL, the majority of the staff and passengers seemed to have a great time, and the ship is absolutely gorgeous.

 

Went as a solo and made some great acquaintances and was extremely impressed with the "newer" solo improvements they have made since I went on the Epic. On Day 1 everyone received what I referred to as "pure gold" from our host Sharon which was a full week schedule with multiple events a day where she would be or where the solos were encouraged to gather. There was almost no time where you couldn't find a friend at the events on the ship and I think all of us enjoyed ourselves exponentially and built some new friendships at the same time! And hey, I even left the casino $700 up so there's that too...

 

As I said, I'll either post a different thread or update this one with more of the standard "Area by area" type stuff - just wanted to encourage anyone looking at the Getaway to jump onboard, especially if you can get on last minute next weekend while prices are still cheap!

I got off Getaway a week before you and I agree with things you said. I did not book a Studio but got a great deal on a balcony with no solo supplement. However, solos are invited to attend solo events.

I was also on this cruise as a solo passenger in one of the Studio cabins. I did not think that I would like them but I do. This was a wonderful cruise, my best in 21 Norwegian cruises. The staff was fantastic. I can not wait to go back on sail on Her again.

We are booked for the Getaway in July. I can't wait to hear all the details of your trip! This will be our first cruise with Norwegian!! :)

I sailed on Getaway on October 18th and have to agree that the program they do for Solo passengers was phenomenal. I was very leery about sailing solo on a ship with Freestyle Dining, but via the Solo Host Jesy, I ate with people every night.

P.S. I didn't think everything was perfect, but after getting off the Quantum of the Seas 2 night cruise, the Getaway seemed much better in comparison!
