Jewel out of Houston: Has anyone played volleyball?

First time cruiser, going on the Jewel out of Houston January 3. I see there is a sports area which can be used as a basketball or volleyball court. I would love to play vball on the cruise, if there are others on board who are into it. However, I realize bball is more popular, and the vball facilities may be old, outdated, or unused. So, my question is: has anyone played volleyball on the Jewel lately, and if so, how did you find the equipment? Was it simple to get the crew to set up for vball? Was the net in good shape? Was the ball in good shape, or should I bring my own? Was it too windy on deck to allow for good play? Any information would be appreciated, thanks.

It seems nobody plays volleyball. :eek: I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up for a bump set spike extravaganza. :mad:

I've played volleyball.

Our DD plays VB but I can't ever recall any event having volleyball on any NCL ship. She did go to the teen club this past March and they did quite a few activities so I'll have to see if they ever played VB but she is not home at the moment.

 

She has played on private island on other cruise lines. Not sure if they have it on GSC.
