Check out the Port of Tampa live port cam this morning. I've never seen it so bad. Lots of wrecks all over town.

That is foggy -- looks like a day we had yesterday.

Thankfully I don't think any ships are scheduled to be there today. They would probably skip Tampa.

Aida Avita is due in tomorrow for a port call. For all the other lines, carnival. HAL. Rccl and Norwegian this is a departure port. The fog this morning just proves that you should not try to depart too early after a cruise. If anyone was coming in today they would be delayed for sure.

Couldn't agree more. On a cruise a while ago we were to disembark in Tampa but didn't get to port until around 2 p.m. Heavy fog was again the reason we were delayed -- we remained on the western side of the Sunshine Skyway for hours until it was safe to navigate. Fortunately, delay due to fog is a rare occurrence for the Port of Tampa.

The same thing happened to us but it doesn't look like we've been on any of the same ships together. We didn't actually get off the ship until almost 7:00 p.m. We had our car there so it didn't affect us but there were a lot of panicked people.

That is some serious fog....... like Bar Harbor sometimes.

I always mention when people speak of sailing into/out of Tampa to consider a post cruise night in Tampa just in case of late arrival due to fog and concern about missing flights. Even still it is worth staying the extra night in Tampa, IMO. We enjoyed several pre and post cruise stays there. :)

Yes, I can verify the Tampa Bay area is fog free and gorgeous now as I sit here with my office window wide open with the sun shining in!
