brookie848 Posted December 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2014 We are planning our second cruise. Earlier this year, our flights were later in the day and we didn't care when we got off the ship and moved towards the airport. This year, our flights are between 12:30 and 1:00 and I'd like to be at FLL no later than 10:30. I don't mind being earlier even though the FLL airport doesn't have a lot of entertainment options. :D We are staying in the Haven and will be doing a private car service to FLL. What is the logical time I should schedule for pick-up that morning? We shouldn't have to deal with massive lines since the concierge will escort us down, but know that things can happen. Thanks! You can be escorted off the ship by around 8:30 AM easily. It will be a somewhat lengthy ride to FLL but as long as you don't have to wait for the car service you should be good. You should not have a problem getting to the airport by 10:30 or so as long as you get off with the Haven VIP's. Make sure your concierge is aware of your plans. Vyhanek Posted December 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2014 Given that there are no mechanical issues and no weather related issues like fog, this should be no problem! ^^^^You can be escorted off the ship with the first group. The concierge will arrange this and will have a group that will want to be the first off with you. The concierge will take the group down the freight elevator that goes right to the very front of the line. You will cut in front of everyone else waiting in line for a couple hours and you will be the first thru customs and immigration. The FLL airport really is not that far. There will be waiting taxi's. You can be at the FLL airport by 9 or 9:15am. For me, by 9:30am I was at the FLL airport, thru security and sitting at my gate. Nothing ends faster than a cruise....maybe Christmas, but when it's over it's over and I think the priority disembarkation is one of the best perks. You will have no problem at all being at the airport for those flights.
Love my butler Posted December 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2014 If there are no delays you can easily be first off the ship at about 8.
KSU Posted December 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Was just on the Epic in the Haven. You can walk your luggage off if you wish to (very early if necessary - even before 8am). We arrived in Miami around 6am. We ate our last breakfast in the Epic club around 8, finished by 830-845, returned to our suite to grab our bags and we were off the ship and through customs by 930-945. Flight was out of FLL but not until late afternoon so we explored a bit and had lunch before going to the airport.
