Rare Manbo Posted December 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2014 I just was given 3 NCL gift cards for Christmas. I hope to use them toward excursions on our upcoming cruise in May. Any problems, concerns with redemption? The NCL web site is not very helpful. Thanks
Got Tequila? Posted December 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2014 I just was given 3 NCL gift cards for Christmas. I hope to use them toward excursions on our upcoming cruise in May. Any problems, concerns with redemption? The NCL web site is not very helpful. Thanks I've used them on the website for cruise payments, for shore excursions and I've redeemed them on the ship....no issues at all. On the website the gift cards are listed as a form of payment, just enter in the card information just like a credit card. I would hang on to the used gift cards, just in case you change plans and they credit back that card.
leelou48 Posted December 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2014 I got a few for Christmas last year. When I got on the ship, I brought them right to guest services and had them apply them to my onboard credit account. No issues at all.
richs52 Posted December 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2014 Agree with the rest. I use them every cruise. Just go to guest services and they will apply them to your account. Great present!

Casino Comp Chick Posted December 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) I would use them for payments. If you use them on board & you run out of money on them you have to make a trip to guest services to again have them register your credit card, the system does not default back to other form of payment so that is 2 wasted trips to guest services IMO (1 to register gift cards, 1 to re-register credit card) Edited December 27, 2014 by iimmie
Coastalbreezes Posted December 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Depending on the amount of the gift cards, you may also use them as a deposit or payment toward a cruise when you book. Tracy

When checking in, we gave our credit card to be used for our onboard account. We then went to guest services and gave them our gift cards to be applied. That was the end of it. Ours certainly weren't enough to cover our entire account. The rest was paid by the credit card we'd left at the beginning.

I had to go back downstairs and re-register the CC was a PITA as I had to go to the room, get the CC out of the safe and then go down, This was on the Breakaway
