Clarea Posted December 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Has anyone had experience with this and was it worth the money? It was fun once, kind of campy, over the top. Don't need to do it again.
HiCSailor Posted December 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2014 My kids and I enjoyed it on Explorer. Go in expecting some silly fun, laughs, and audience participation, along with a nice meal, not a production show - think school play!
mutzy Posted December 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 27, 2014 I enjoyed it on the explorer. the food and service was great. the entertainment hokey but funny. my only complaint it was a long evening.

Clarea Posted December 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2014 I've never seen this offered before...what ships have? And how is it protrayed? It is usually held on ships that have either Portofino or Giovanni's Table.
pajazz28 Posted December 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Well worth it, my wife and I have attend two of them and we will attend them when ever offered. Unlimited wine and excellent food and the murder mystery is very funny. Go for it you will not regret it.

looksandletters Posted December 27, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 27, 2014 What's the cost on this, and menu? Are you able to pre-book or only sign up when you get on the ship?
Clarea Posted December 27, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) What's the cost on this, and menu? Are you able to pre-book or only sign up when you get on the ship? Cost is around $55 per person. This is a menu from Navigator: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=39712848&postcount=7 You should be able to sign up pre-cruise if it's being held on your sailing. Clarea Posted December 27, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Is it available on Oasis? Are there so many other things to do that we should give it a miss? If it's available on your sailing, it will be listed in your pre-cruise planner.

Rare RCCL Fan Posted December 27, 2014 #16 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Was planning a date night for wife and I and thought this may be fun. Same food as Giovanni's? Should I not book dinner there the next day for the whole fam?

HiCSailor Posted December 27, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 27, 2014 Was planning a date night for wife and I and thought this may be fun. Same food as Giovanni's? Should I not book dinner there the next day for the whole fam? It's a fun experience, but not quite the same as a romantic dinner at Giovanni's. So you might consider keeping both, or doing the mystery dinner theater with the whole family, with date night to follow for the two of you. Our kids are young. I doubt dinner theater would work for them. but appreciate the advice. Edited December 27, 2014 by RCCL Fan
Caribbeansunrise Posted December 28, 2014 #20 Share Posted December 28, 2014 It was fun once, kind of campy, over the top. Don't need to do it again. I agree. Once was fun. Limited preselected menus. Wine flowed freely. We were seated banquet style at one of 3 long tables and competed as a table to guess the villan.
