Tampa hotel reccomendations?

We are doing a 5 night cruise out of Tampa,and would like to fly down the night before to make life a bit easier. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel that is close to the port, but also in walking distance to a nice place to enjoy dinner/breakfast prior to cruising?

Embassy Suites is very close to the terminal and there are several good places to eat within walking distance.

We are staying at the Westin the night before, which is close to the port. A little pricey than what I like, but figured if we are going on vacation, might as well be nice.

We are staying at the Best Western Bay Harbor. I got an excellent price with Travel Pony.

We like the Holiday Inn Express at Rocky Point. The hotel shuttle picks us up at the airport. There is a Bahama Breeze restaurant right behind the hotel so we walk over. Dinner there and a few umbrella drinks will get you right in the mood to cruise. :)

I agree....you can take the trolley over to Ybor city and have lunch or dinner at the historic Columbia restaurant.

Either Marriot Waterside or Embassy Suites. I have stayed at both. Embassy gives you free breakfast and happy hour. Marriot Waterside is a little more upscale and usually more costly.

Check out the schedule for the Teco Trolley. They don't always run till late on Sundays. Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City is fabulous!

When do you cruise? Budget? :confused: Hotel prices vary widely with the tourist season - the under $100 room can be $250+ in Jan/Feb :eek:

 

We like the Rocky Point area (suggested above) with several hotels to choose from plus several dining options; many of the hotels offer cruise packages that include both airport and port shuttles.
