DevilDogsWifey215 Posted January 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2015 We are looking at booking out first cruise with the kids over Thanksgiving break. Our choices are 1) NCL Sky 4 day Bahamas with stops in Nassau, Grand Stirrup Cay, and Grand Bahamas Island (assuming Freeport?) 2) Carnival Ecstasy 3 day Bahamas to just Nassau. The Ecstasy is the better ship of the 2 as far as offerings. But NCL has the most days and ports. The cost difference is a little over $400. Ahhh! I can't pick! Lol Cruise agent here who has sailed both..Big difference..first, how old are your kids? If they are young ( under 18), they might like the Ecstasy's slides at the pool more..the Sky has much better entertainment & specialty restaurants like Cagney's ( Steakhouse) and Il Adaggio ( Italian), and the Garden Cafe at the back is a nice outdoor cafe & buffet area...I much prefer RCI's the Liberty of The Seas, which does 4 & 5 nights in Nov...you should check that ship out- blows both away in a heartbeat..adults only pool, flowrider surfing pool, ice-skating shows, rock climbing wall, mini- golf, basketball, great arcade room, Royal Promenade with parades at night, British Pub, etc...Ecstasy & Sky are both pretty small & old..Liberty is newer & bigger ( bigger than BOTH ships together!) Cruzaholic41 Posted January 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I totally agree with big al on this one. Neither can be compared to Liberty. Edited January 20, 2015 by Cruzaholic41
DevilDogsWifey215 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Liberty is not an option. My kids will be 6 and 8 at that time. I'm not worried about restaurants. Just activities for us to do as a family and for just adults too. Edited January 20, 2015 by DevilDogsWifey215
Cruzaholic41 Posted January 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2015 In that case, I guess I would recommend Ecstasy for the waterslides and for the larger staterooms.
