Smoking locations on the Royal - near E701?

I'm starting to suspect that the cabin I've selected is right above a designated smoking area...? We'll be on Emerald deck, cabin E701 - aft starboard, just above an outside deck area. We're non-smokers, and while not at all fanatical about smoke, by the same token I'd prefer to not be overwhelmed by it either when on the balcony.

Can anyone confirm if we are above the smoking area? If so, has anyone had a cabin in this immediate area that can provide feedback on the smoke situation? I realize it would all depend on how many smokers are on the cruise etc, but would appreciate any available feedback!

Also, where is smoking location information located on the Princess site?

Thanks!

I don't know the ship but I wouldn't worry too much about the smokers and if they are allowed there they wont be there 24/7....just enjoy your balcony and your cruise

I enjoyed 10 nights in E711 on the Royal & there were no problems with smoke. As I recall there was no smoking on the outside Promenade deck area you mentioned. I think there was a smoking area on one side of the aft end of Promenade deck & possibly the aft end of Sun deck.

Hopefully someone who uses the smoking areas will report the exact details. However I would have no concerns about having your cabin...E701.

At the top of the CC Princess page there is a "sticky" discussing the Princess smoking policy & would suggest posting there if you don't get a definitive answer.

Smoking areas on the Royal/Regal.

Church Hills Deck 6 Inside

Aft Deck 17 Out Side Covered

Deck 7 Out Side Aft Starboard Side

Casino Starboard side (Except on Formal Nights)

The smoking area on Deck 7 is at the far end of the Deck.

No problem with your Cabin.

Enjoy your Cruise.

FYI, some additional comments from someone who has stayed in that exact cabin, but on Regal Princess (the cabin locations are identical), from this thread...

We stayed in E701 on the Regal last month and the "obstruction" was like Pam showed, no problem for us.:) But, Yes - the slamming of the exterior door was very noticeable, not only throughout the day & evening but especially early in the morning if we wanted to sleep in. The other thing we noticed is at night if we were out on the balcony the lights around the lower promenade area were very bright. They had shields over the tops but were still bright. Other than that the cabin & location were fine. We would stay in this area again, just a few decks higher.;)
