Ash1982 Posted January 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Hello! Quick question. I'm sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam and was curious about which menus in the specialty restaurants change nightly, and which stay the same for the duration of the sailing. Asking specifically about: Pinnacle Grill Tamarind Canaletto Thank you!!
Rare Crew News Posted January 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Hello! Quick question. I'm sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam and was curious about which menus in the specialty restaurants change nightly, and which stay the same for the duration of the sailing. Asking specifically about: Pinnacle Grill Tamarind Canaletto Thank you!! None. Some menus last for many months. Here is a link to the current Specialty Restaurant, Beverage, and Room Service menus in PDF format: http://www.rogerjett-photography.com/?page_id=908 Edited January 27, 2015 by Crew News
sail7seas Posted January 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2015 From time to time, HAL will change the menu for various restaurants but the menu in existence is the same each night.
Rare Vict0riann Posted January 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2015 The only changes might be for Le Cirque or the Cellar Master's (Sommelier's) dinners - the prices are higher, though.
Ash1982 Posted January 27, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Thanks, everyone. I was just confused, because according to the Cruise Critic review, it says this about Canaletto: Canaletto is a family-style Italian restaurant, tucked into a corner of the Lido and transformed each evening with white tablecloths for a filling, three-course meal. The entrees rotate nightly and include an assortment of pastas and large plates like veal, braised chicken, roasted pork and grilled sea bass. A small plates section was added in January 2014 when price changes were made to Canaletto fleetwide. Perhaps this was once the case, but is no longer so? Mary Ellen Posted January 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Perhaps this was once the case, but is no longer so? In the very early days of the E'Dam (first ship with a Canaletto) the menu did rotate nightly. I don't know when they switched to a set menu, but it's been some time. cruz chic Posted January 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I don't think the tamarind has ever changed (evening menu) but I could be wrong.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Hello! Quick question. I'm sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam and was curious about which menus in the specialty restaurants change nightly, and which stay the same for the duration of the sailing. Asking specifically about: Pinnacle Grill Tamarind Canaletto Thank you!! None of the above specialty restaurants change their menus nightly. But the Pinnacle will have 1 night dedicated to Le Cirque which means that you can not order from the regular Pinnacle menu. Le Cirque is offered 1 time. Now on the Eurodam, one week the Pinnacle has Le Cirque 1 evening and the next week the Pinnacle will have 1 night dedicated to De Librije. Krazy Kruizers Posted January 27, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I don't think the tamarind has ever changed (evening menu) but I could be wrong. We first tried the Tamarind on the Eurodam in 2008. Thinking back -- I can't think of any changes that have been made in their in menus in all these years.
