loisswanson Posted January 11, 2006 #51 Share Posted January 11, 2006 You may want to consider Mullins Beach where you will find Mannie's Suga Suga - there are chair rentals, people that will give you drinks, food available from the restaurant (although I think you would pay separately for all of this). You can find this at The Boatyard also. The Boatyard offers great beach facilities including the use of Beach Chairs & Umbrellas, Kayaks, Pedal Boats, Snorkeling, Glass Bottom Boats, Scuba Diving at Roger's Scuba Shack, Ocean Trampolines, Ice-berg Climb & Slide, Beach Volleyball, Showers, Changing rooms and much more. Plus plenty to eat and drink.
WeRockChalkKU Posted January 15, 2006 #52 Share Posted January 15, 2006 I think this was asked but I'm not sure it was answered. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
wiselindag Posted January 16, 2006 #53 Share Posted January 16, 2006 There may be public buses, but you would probably have to go to Bridgetown to get one. Taxis are plentiful at the cruise port and fares are posted. It was $5 per person to Accra and since the Boatyard is a little closer to the ship that would be about the same or less. Our driver gave us his number and a quarter to call him when we were ready to return to the ship and then came and got us.... very easy. You shouldn't have any problems. underwayatlast Posted January 22, 2006 #54 Share Posted January 22, 2006 Diane and I are looking forward to relaxing and unwinding there Feb 9th. It's our last stop before heading back to port in San Juan. Thanks again for all the detailed information.
Shine Posted January 26, 2006 #55 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Greetings...we will be in Baarbados in February and are definitely considering Accara beach....but you write in your post "it's not all together at the moment." What do you mean? The website looks absolutely gorgeous and seems exactly what we're looking for. Thanks for all your info!
WeRockChalkKU Posted January 30, 2006 #56 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Watch out for dishonest cab drivers/the ones that are the arrangers for your driver when you first walk out of the terminal. They tried telling us that we didn't want to go to Accra - "it's too windy". Instead they told us they'd take us to Tamarind Cove (I think) for $15 round trip each. We had more than one of those pushy guys tell us this. We just kept on walking until we found an honest driver who told us that the reason that they push you to go elsewhere is because the other place is an easy drive for the driver and they don't have to take you through town. The honest driver took us for $5 one way and then we found another driver to bring us back for the same amount.,
