pupskate Posted February 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2015 I wasn't sure where to post this question, so I apologize if I am in the wrong forum..... I was on Carnival Liberty in November, and my Mom won around $160 in the casino. She forgot to cash out her sail and sign card in the casino, therefore was not able to collect her cash right away. Guest Services said that she would receive a check of her winnings in the mail in 4-6 weeks. She has not received anything, and I am having a difficult time getting any info. Carnival referred me to Ocean Players Club website, who apparently handles all cruise casinos, and who is responsible for mailing casino winning reimbursements when they are not claimed on the ship. Their website is very limited and there is no info on what I need. If you click on their "contact us" link, it sends you back to Carnival's website. I'm sorry this is so long, not sure how else to explain my situation. Has anybody had to claim casino winnings after the cruise?....I guess I could have just started with that question instead of writing this novel...lol. :o Thanks for any help! BigB0882 Posted February 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Have you emailed to casino@carnival.com ? I sent an email there asking about perks and got a reply in 2 days that was very nice and took care of my questions. I know you said you contacted someone but I would try this email. Include the booking # of the cruise your mom was on, her name, date of birth and her VIFP number. Edited February 3, 2015 by BigB0882

They announce to cash nite before disembark, not sure she will get it back, good luck. Land based casinos give you a short period of time to cash your paper voucher, then it is gone. hhalliv Posted February 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2015 When it comes to strange little things like this with Carnival, I would first call the 1-800 number and see how far that gets you. And then, as always, when I doubt, contact John Heald. He is on Facebook, and will give you a contact person. Sorry you're having trouble!
Ykgorbie Posted February 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2015 One Carnival cruise we were on, we left some money (not much, maybe $30) in one of the machines - but we didn't realize it - at all...until a cheque from Carnival came in the mail and it had to be some six months after our cruise ! BigB0882 Posted February 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2015 The fact that they do this at all, even if it takes forever, is so nice. Land based casinos give you 24 hours to cash in paper vouchers and that is it. I am sure many a drunk person has come home to find a paper voucher in their pocket or wallet days later and that must really hurt when it is for a decent amount of money. I think it is extremely fair and right for Carnival to make sure everyone gets their money.
Rod in Az Posted February 3, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 3, 2015 We cruised August 3 - 10, 2014 on the Dream. I thought I had zeroed out my casino account before the cruise ended, and was surprised when I received a check on October 14th for the $15 I didn't cash out. Good Luck! lappy22 Posted February 3, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Every casino in Vegas that I've been to gives you 90 days. Your right. 90 days seems about the norm in most casinos I've been in. Sent from my iPad using Forums
lappy22 Posted February 3, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Don't they donate your money to St. Jude if the amount is under five bucks? Sent from my iPad using Forums
BigB0882 Posted February 3, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Every casino in Vegas that I've been to gives you 90 days. Oh wow. Maybe that is because Vegas relies so heavily on tourists from out of town and out of state? In Louisiana they all say 24 hours. Or they used to. Next time I go to the casino I will have to take a closer look and see if that has changed.
vwrestler171 Posted February 4, 2015 #15 Share Posted February 4, 2015 There is a number to call for the casino as well. 1-866-299-5859 Try that. I never got a response via email, but when I called I was taken care of.
westcruzer Posted February 5, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Your right. 90 days seems about the norm in most casinos I've been in. Sent from my iPad using Forums Last time I was in Vegas I actually saw a lady who had a slot machine slip that was for over $1500 and it was over a year old and she was still able to cash it. Just looking at her and he clothes and purse I can clearly see why she accidentally forgot to cash it in. Her purse alone was worth over $5,000 (according to my wife). Lacaena Posted February 5, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 5, 2015 As of last week on the Sunshine we were told that any amount $5 and over they will mail you a check and any amount under $5 will be donated to St. Jude. No mention of time frame. Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app
Rare mitsugirly Posted February 5, 2015 #18 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Wow this is interesting. I didn't know that if you left money on the card they would send you a check. That's pretty awesome seeing how we don't use a card on NCL (they still have the coupons that spit out) and I have came home with coupons with money still on it that I didn't realize I still had. :p
