lillybean Posted February 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I have booked a 4 day cruise in March with RC in the Enchantment of the Seas and I have been getting mixed information about the drink packages and if they include gratuities as of now. I was under the impression RC has changed its policy and that we now have sign for ALL DRINKS and you are now able tip per drink. Rather then in the past you would only sign for drinks that were NOT included in your drink pacake. Can someone let me know what the policy is now for the drink package? Thank you. Rare LMaxwell Posted February 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2015 The advertised prices now do not include gratuity, but you will be charged 15% gratuity on top of the package price. Thus every drink you order is already covered with a gratuity. You may or may not be given a slip to have the opportunity to double tip against your account. Of course cash always works too if you want to tip additional to the amount charged to the base package.
CruisinQueen2013 Posted February 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2015 The package price shown does not include gratuity but when you go to actually purchase it in the cruise planner, it adds the 15% to your total. So, no need to tip on-board, although you certainly can tip more if you'd like.
ksuds Posted February 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2015 If you get the premium package listed at 49.00 per day. Your charge will be 56.35 x number of days sailing. We always tip extra to the servers extra though.
minn0315 Posted February 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I had purchased the Premium Package for our cruise last week on NOS, 1/25-2/1. Every time you get a drink you will receive a receipt with "grand total" $0.00. Then this is the verbage printed on every receipt: "A 15% Service Charge is included in your bill, however, please us the "Additional Tip" line to recognize outstanding service." If the average price for a cocktail or a glass of wine would be about $10.00 then the $1.50 included is right on. If the next drink was on my table before I finished the last one, I always added to the amount on the add. tip line.
hrhdhd Posted February 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2015 Possibly dumb question from first-time RC cruiser: If I buy the replenish package from the personalizer, I am paying for it with a credit card in advance of the cruise, right? It doesn't go on my account to be paid for with OBC? Just trying to decide whether to buy in advance or on the ship. Any advantage to one or the other?
tm3750 Posted February 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2015 If you want to use your OBC to pay for it, you have to buy it once you are on the ship. If you buy it prior you will have to prepay with a credit card
