Bilu444 Posted February 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2015 I have always tipped the person who delivers room service a few dollars. I board tomorrow and forgot to get singles. If I remember correctly, I have to sign a slip even though there's no charge. Can I add a few dollars tip to the slip to add it to my sail and sign of does it need to be cash? firemanbobswife Posted February 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2015 They don't bring a receipt. You can go to GS or the casino to get change.
cbCRR Posted February 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2015 Last cruise, they didn't bring slips for us to sign. Agree - you can get change from GS or the casino.

Cruzin in 09 Posted February 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2015 On the Triumph last month they brought slips with room service and we were able to leave our tips on that and it was just charged to our sigh and sail. I just cleaned out my cruise bag to get it ready for the next cruise and one was in there. Life is better aboard a ship.

If I remember correctly, I have to sign a slip even though there's no charge. Can I add a few dollars tip to the slip to add it to my sail and sign of does it need to be cash? I just got off the Liberty on Sunday and every time I had room service, they had me sign a receipt for the food. I still tipped in cash, as I wanted to be sure the person that delivered, received the tip. If you put your tips on the receipts, whether it be for room service or bar tabs, the tips go into a pool and are split among all servers. I always tip in cash to make sure the person I was served by receives the tip. They really appreciate the cash tips.
firemanbobswife Posted February 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2015 Never had a room service receipt. Maybe it's ship specific?
YorN Posted February 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2015 Maybe varies by ship? Off Valor three weeks ago. No receipts. Did have to sign breakfast order card when delivered, but no receipts for regular room service.
rocking-m-cruiser Posted February 7, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2015 I normally just pay cash.
cherbear4000 Posted February 7, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2015 I always tip room service in cash. I didn't have time to go to the bank before last cruise so I had to take all $20 bills from the ATM with me. I was able to go to the cashier in the casino and get change. JillySue Posted February 8, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We only got a receipt for the breakfast delivery from the hanger. When we called, we did not get a slip. Sent from my iPad using Forums
LambKnuckles Posted February 8, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 8, 2015 I've had to sign, but I tip in cash, too! I want to be sure it goes to THAT person, not a pool of waiters. Just take your large bill and get change from Casino or Guest Services or the machine.
robear14 Posted February 8, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 8, 2015 On the Pride two weeks ago, there were no slips for breakfast... it looked like the person who brought it had the form that was filled out, but we never checked or signed it. When I tipped them they seemed surprised by it.

It says right in the Fun Times that a tip for room service is recommended and appreciated(or something like that).
rocking-m-cruiser Posted February 8, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We have always tipped in cash but did notice on the last Legend cruise they had a receipt you could use your S & S.
funinthesun1964 Posted February 9, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 9, 2015 I always tip in cash for room service. Truthfully, don't remember if I had to sign a receipt or not. Seems like I did a couple of times
