Colorado Beach Bum Posted February 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We will port in Cannes off the the NCL Epic. Can we walk from the port to a beach and/or shopping? We just don't want to spend hours on a bus or taxi. Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that Cannes is a tender port so it can take a long time to get ashore from a mega ship like the Epic. But once ashore there is a decent public sandy beach towards your left (along the water). The more famous Cannes beach is towards the right across from the main part of the city, but this beach can be expensive if one wants to rent a chair. MeHeartCruising Posted February 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Yep, if you just want to roam around central Cannes and/or visit the beaches, this is very walkable to do. We didn't sit or lay on the beach, but we just walked the waterfront, explored some of the shoppes, walked up the hill to an observation area and generally had a peaceful, relaxing, walking, sitting on park bench kind of day. It was a nice pace after several days of intense touring at previous stops.
berlingo Posted February 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2015 With our back to the sea we have always headed to the beaches to the left. Here you will find a mixture of private and public stretches of beach. Private areas are covered with sun beds and can be used for a fee whilst the public beaches are bare of facilities and free to use. Stroll along and make your choice. Walking back along the sea front there are many seafood cafés specialising in platters of iced oysters which you can enjoy whilst admiring the many handsome moored yatchts. Cannes is glamorous spot so huge shades and bling are essential to hide from the paparazzi!

1island2go Posted March 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2015 So are most of the shops and cafes along the water and close to where the tenders drop you off? We are looking to just wonder around do a little shopping after doing Florence and not doing a organized shore excursion. Thanks
Rare Hlitner Posted March 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2015 From the tender pier you can walk into the center of town where there is shopping and plenty of restaurants
