If you sailed the Silhouette British Isles from Amsterdam which side would

You are generally too far from land for it to matter. The cruise is essentially north and then south so you will get sun in either the morning or afternoon each way.

I guess you can tell, I don' think there's much of a difference.

And if you get the sun you are lucky ---

Starboard would mean you were almost always facing the British mainland however as stated earlier I doubt if you will see land that often between ports. It rains more in the west and the wind is predominantly from the west so on balance I would go for starboard for this reason west facing on the east side of the country may be marginally calmer. Pretty marginal however and totally theoretical.

We sailed this itinerary two years ago and were on the Starboard side.

I can't recall alot about what we saw when actually moving, but we were facing land at the following ports while docked:

--Cobh (interesting view)

--Greenock (serenaded by bagpiper on the pier!, this is a river pier)

--LaHavre (industrial view)

--Dublin (industrial view)

--Liverpool (river pier, views on both sides)

--Belfast (we were on the "sea" side in Belfast, but that was more interesting because we were facing the Titanic dry dock)

This was one of my favorite cruises EVER; in fact one of my favorite vacations ever. Enjoy it!
