Just curious, as we'll be on Enchantment in a couple of weeks ... how often has she been unable to stop @ Coco Cay this past couple of months?

We are 1 for 2 in the past on our Monarch cruises (also in March) .. so just curious how its been this winter so far ?

We were on the 1/30/15 three night cruise, and we not able to stop due to wind. We instead went to Nassau early (arrived about 3pm) and stayed until the following day around 3pm.

We just got back from a 4 day on the EoTS and we did not stop but to winds.. I was bummed

We'll give it two tries next week on MJ.

On the 3-Night, Nassau is first though ... and then Coco Cay the next day.. on our Monarch cruise, we just did a sea day when Coco wasn't possible .. is that what Enchantment still does on the 3 day ? Or do they still somehow do an extended stay in Nassau ?

Sea Day

Usually it's a sea day. However, I've been on Monarch when it was determined on Saturday that Coco Cay wouldn't be possible the next day and they arranged to stay at Nassau until noon on Sunday. So I guess it all depends on when they decide to not go to Coco and if Nassau has space for them to over-night.

Just back from the Enchantment 3 day cruise on Feb 13th. Got to Cococay, dropped the anchor and 5 minutes later the captain came on the intercom and said nope, not gonna happen, too rough. We did the 9 nautical mile per hour crawl back to Port Canaveral.

Its not the ship that matters. Its the tenders that have to leave and enter that little channel. It can get pretty wild if the wind is blowing directly in to the little shallow opening.

It's not just the channel. It's also the ability to be able to board the tender from the ship. It doesn't take much for the gangway to bounce around quite a bit, making it quite unsafe.

And we're 3 for 3 so far at Coco Cay. Twice on Enchantment 9/1/13 and 12/23/14 and once on Freedom 8/11/14.

As of Saturday, we are 7 for 7 for getting to Coco Cay- 3 times on the Majesty, twice on the Enchantment (B2B) and twice on the Monarch.

The tenders were moving quite a bit, too- had to watch our heads on the Majesty- but thankfully, it was good enough for us. Whew.

The pics we posted above of the EN tenders were taken on the same day at Coco Cay when the boarding ramp to EN actually did fall into the water. It was tied up and chained and was easily recovered. At the time, no guests were on or even near the ramp. Somewhere we have that pic. If we can find it, I'll show it later.

We were on the Enchantment last weekend , Feb 7-9 . We rocked and rolled down to our first stop in Nassau ( 6 foot seas ) and it was very, very windy and very chilly all day in Nassau. Not at all what the weather websites had predicted.

We were all convinced Coco would be a No Go.

We left Nassau at midnight as scheduled and low and behold, we made it to Coco Cay.

Captain McDuff said the winds shifted from the east and he was able to position the ship to protect the tenders.

The ride to CoCo was uneventful , it was sunny and beautiful all day, but, pretty much too chilly to enjoy any water activities.

We were still grateful that we were able to enjoy the island.
