sugarcubesea Posted February 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2015 We live in the MidWest and I want to fly in the day prior to the cruise just to ensure we have no weather delays. What is the best hotel for a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, 16 and 19?
Clarea Posted February 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2015 The Residence Inn, Tampa Downtown, has two bedroom suites that might be convenient for your family.

phoenix1181 Posted February 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2015 We stayed at the Holiday Inn Tampa-Westshore last April & it was perfect. Free Airport Shuttle & it also was free within a 3 mile area. We were able to get to the mall & pick up a few things. All for a small tip! I think we could have taken their shuttle to the port, for a fee, but we opted for a taxi.

How many bottles can you bring? Do you bring it on the carry on or the bags that are delivered to your room?

Do you bring it on the carry on or the bags that are delivered to your room? You can bring two bottles per stateroom, each no larger than 750ml. You can use carry on or checked bag, but I prefer carry on to avoid breakage and potential delay in receiving checked bags.
Rare skivoodoo Posted February 15, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2015 St Pete is a vibrant option. The downtown area has it all for a night on the town pre cruise! The Hilton is close to all of the restaurants, wine store and a CVS.

Wow, thank you, can you room steward open these for you, or do you have to bring your own opener?
biomedbob Posted February 15, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Ditto on Embassy Suites. Great manager's reception, (I think locals crash it), super full breakfast. Hugh mall with a large food court within walking distance. If you are on the upper floors you can see the Cruiseships arriving and departing. Have stayed there over a half dozen times. :)

You can ask your stateroom attendant for a corkscrew. Also any bar or restaurant will open the wine. I forgot to mention that Royal no longer charges any corkage fees, so you can bring the wine anywhere for no extra charge.
