I am not sure about the area you are staying. But seeing you are driving from NJ and you will driving past the cruise port to get to your hotel as this area is south of the cruise port. You may want to consider the White Marsh Mall area. There are several hotels in the area and some do offer park and cruise packages. This area is right off Interstate 95 just north of the cruise port. There are a Fairfield Inn ,Hampton Inn and a Hilton Garden Inn among others. mapleleafvoyage Posted February 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2015 There are a couple of threads already going about this... if you check a couple of the links here, you will see a picture I posted. I stayed here at this hotel, and I took a photo.. We were more than happy with the arrangement, and never thought twice about our vehicle. This hotel is in a more of a residential area, off the beaten path of the city.. I am staying here also in April.. Happy cruising :D
Rare mskaufman Posted February 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2015 That hotel is off the main road in an area that should be OK. My son lives about a mile from there and has never had a problem. There is a restaurant right next to the hotel (Stained Glass Pub). Easy access to I-95 and Rt. 100. If you are just coming to stay over the night before the cruise, the earlier poster I correct and you will drive about 20 minutes past the terminal to get there. Snick500 Posted February 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Very safe area. My son lived nearby and we never felt unsafe. It is outside of Baltimore by about 10 miles.
trixiegal Posted February 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) I live near this area and it's very residential with a few business parks scattered around, as well. It's right off of a major thoroughfare, Route 1, and easily accessible to many major highways toward the south and north. Your car will be perfectly safe. If you want to shop or even have some entertainment before your cruise, Arundel Mills Mall is less than 10 minutes away via MD 100 going east. There is a Medieval Times, Md Live! casino, mega movie theatre, Walmart, several chain restaurants and 100s of outlet stores. The White Marsh area is also nice and is north of the cruise port. There is a big shopping complex with lots of restaurants and a big mall there. I'm not sure what the hotel prices are in that area, though. It's fairly inexpensive around Elkridge, Hanover and the BWI Corridor, especially on the weekends due to the sharp decline of business travelers leaving empty rooms in abundance. cruise-n-Pa-couple Posted June 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Hi Chris and Jeff, Terry and Donna here. We sailed together on the New Years cruise. How did your stay there go in April?? We are sailing again in October and staying there this time. I've heard there are still some problems in Baltimore, and I'm just trying to gather information. Thanks
shippmates Posted June 5, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2015 We stayed there and it was a nice hotel. Our car was safe for the 10 days we parked there. The restuarant in the parking lot was very good but got crowded with the after work crowd. The swimming pool was nice. They had a complimentary breakfast which had a large selection of yogurt, bagels and fruit, and cereal. Make sure you sign up for the shuttle as soon as you check in so you can get the time frame you want.

CHuntMD Posted June 9, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 9, 2015 The hotels all around the BWI airport are all safe. From my office bldg I can see a dozen or so along with a MD State Police bldg and NSA cops driving their Explorers. The cruise terminal is the last exit on I-95 north before the tunnel (toll) and is really e-z-on & off. From the BWI Airport Marriott it's 9.2 miles and most of that is 55mph. MS52 Posted June 12, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Nice hotel, substantial breakfast and the BEST crab cake that I have ever had is at a nearby restaurant called Timbuktu. The hotel shuttle will take you there. Dinner at Timbuktu is an excellent way to start the cruise. We're 2 hours from Baltimore and have driven down to Timbuktu several times just for the crab cakes! Tony O Posted June 13, 2015 #16 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Thank you. Has anyone stayed at the "Best Western Plus Hotel and Conference Center" in Baltimore? Just wondering if that is in a decent area of Baltimore. If this is the one located on O'donnell Street in Baltimore ; The hotel is located across the street from a truck stop with a truckers hotel. The hotel property has a truck washing business and trucking business located on the property. There is low income housing close by with police cameras mounted on the street . There is nothing close by. You can do a goggle map search and check out the area for yourself.
