My guess would be they will not be able to join you in the priority lounge, but after you are checked in you are more than welcome to wait with them in the standard embarkation area, granted it doesn't hurt to ask in the vip lounge

My experience is from 2009 when we were in a Haven PH and my parents were in a mini suite. They had to do their check in out in the main area but were allowed to stay with us in the priority lounge and board the ship with us. I think it is a case by case basis. I would talk to your concierge once you get to the priority lounge and see what they are able to do for you. If they can do nothing I would not be upset with them as I am sure there are many variables that they base their decision on.

When we boarded the Pearl in Seattle, Suite guests had a separate initial check-in point outside the terminal. They had a list of all the suite guests and VIPs - if you were not on the list you had to go through the lines in the main terminal. The suite and VIPs were taken directly to the metal detector station in small groups and walked through as a group, then escorted to the suite check-in lounge - and then onto the ship. I suppose that once everyone in the party has checked in it would make little difference if you all boarded the ship together - after all your cabins are next to each other.

I have not been in the position of having two cabins where one is a suite and the other isn't. I have only read about it here. Personally I think that if the two rooms are booked under the same reservation the suite privileges should apply to all - esp since NCL promotes the adjoining cabins to handle extra pax.

With NCL there is no such thing as two cabins under the same reservation - every cabin has it's own reservation and can be paid, modified, cancelled, etc independently.

So you get a suite and book an adjoining cabin to put your two kids in. You arrive at the port, and they are required to check in separately from you? I don't think so.

Fwiw, I took my elderly father on the spirit. Myself and DW in a suite, he in adjoining balcony. He was with us through the whole boarding process. Most mornings we had breakfast in the suite, and he enjoyed the full benefit of that experience.

Things may have changed, but the whole point of an adjoining cabin is/was to keep a family together, with a bit of privacy.

As per ncl, unless your kids are old enough one of the parents would have to be attached to the second non suite room, therefore losing the suite perks at least on paper

Nope, that rule (requirement of an adult) doesn't apply to connecting or adjoining cabins.

Incorrect, I have a suite booked for August and the adjoining balcony, the passengers in the balcony are 4 (lead passenger), 10, 13 & 15. They get all the same perks I get as their keycards are automatically coded for haven access.

We were on a suite on the Jewel in December; our 18 and 19 year old kids had a balcony room nearby. I was (not surprisingly) paying for everyone, but as someone noted, the reservations were separately named. There was no problem at all with the (adult) children checking in with us in the suite area. We didn't even have to ask; the person with the clipboard at the entrance to the Haven check in sent us all through, even though we told her the kids were not in a suite. (And for what its worth, the kids were able to join us for breakfast and lunch in Moderno without any problem.) The way we were treated, this seemed pretty routine in this situation, although we were on our first cruise, so I don't have anything to compare.

We were on the POA in 2013 in a suite and my parents were in a balcony cabin and they were allowed to board with us. The concierge showed them directly to their cabin just like he escorted us to our suite. Our reservations were linked together so they had no problem including them with us.

Does this apply only to Haven suites? If Myself and DH have a penthouse and an adjoining balcony booked, and book the kids in the Balcony, the kids would still get suite perks? (Cagneys for breakfast and lunch etc?)

We're booked in a 2 bedroom next so it wouldn't make sense this trip, especially with KSF, but could make a big difference in the future!

Is this on the website anywhere?

That is exactly my situation. you say your resevrations were linked. I was given seperate reservation numbers, Is there something I have to do to get the reservations linked?

Yes you will have two different reservation numbers, but you can call NCL and ask them to have the reservations linked. That way they know that you are all together. Oh and I forgot, on the POA we were allowed to bring two guests to Cagney's with us for breakfast. My dad enjoyed being able to join us there in the mornings - and smart on NCL's part because for future cruises he now wants to be in a suite.

Copper beaches, yes if your kids are booked in an adjoining cabin with you they will still get suite perks. On the POA we had an SF suite connecting to a BC balcony cabin for our family of five (two adults and three kids) and all of us had the same suite benefits.

Last year we were in a suite and my parents were in a balcony. They were allowed to embark with us as well as eat lunch with us at Cagney's. They were also allowed to attend Cagney's for their trip duration as well as received other perks that we had. They were not allowed in the Haven though, if fact we didn't even try for that. I find that if you ask nicely for things and don't expect them then sometimes you are pleasantly surprised. We did not ask for any of these "perks" for my parents, the concierge just did it and we were very appreciative and thankful to him. He was tipped well at the end of the trip.

In addition to suite guests, VIP guests are allowed the same priority embarkation - through the suites lines, and breakfast and lunch in Cagney's. It does not allow Haven access. I would think that it would be easy to extend VIP status to those people in cabins that are linked to a suite. Other VIPs include the Meet and Greet hosts and anyone else the cruise line feels deserves it - I have heard of random first time cruisers and people who are platinum plus get this status.

I got the suite and cabin reservations linked but when I asked about giving my balcony guests VIP status the NCL agent acted like he had never heard about it.

A few posters will come on here and set an expectation that is not normally going to be met. If you get lucky and have some perks extended, you are the exception, not the rule. You will not find this info on the website because it doesn't exist. Haven guests can invite a guest to the Haven for a meal twice during a cruise at a cost of $25 per person, they will not have access to the Haven though.

When it is not busy on a cruise, sometimes the Concierge might make an exception, it is not common.

I have a stern penthouse suite booked next month aboard the Sun for my wife, I, and our 13 and 15 year old grandsons. I booked the adjoining balcony cabin for their father, and our 3 year old grandson and 5 year old grand daughter. Now where do you think I'll take the whole crew to check in, especially considering the charges will all be on my card?
