Free ocean view or Captain's Suite for $1200?

I haven't been in the Captain's Suite before so I'm looking for other's opinions.

 

I have a choice between a free ocean view on the Breeze or the Captain's Suite on the Conquest for $1200 for 8 days. Both are a week apart and have the exact same itinerary. I'm travelling solo but seriously considering doing this just once because it's regular $6000.

 

I'd like to hear what's other's think, especially if you've stayed in one.

Free is good but capt suite is even better for that price.

I know, that's what I was thinking too. If it was a decision between both rooms on the Conquest I would definitely go with the Captain's Suite. My decision now is, do I want to cruise free on the Breeze or pay $1200 for the Captain's Suite on Conquest.

 

Although, it would be pretty cool sailing in the Captain's Suite for a 8 days solo.

I would hands down do the captains suite. I mean as long as you can afford it! I've paid more for 2 ppl in a balcony, so to me that doesn't sound too bad!

If it gives you any incentive, my price for Conquest 8 Night in mid September is $1697 for two people in an aft Ocean View.

Think of it this way, it is probably your only opportunity to ever have a Captain's Suite, especially as a solo. You can afford an OV any time. Take the suite man!

I would go Breeze, absolutely love her.. don't care for the Conquest class of ship.

Wow, that is a hard one and as someone else said, what a great problem to have!

 

It is hard to pass up free and the Breeze is generally regarded as a better ship than the Conquest but I am sure plenty of people would disagree.

 

For me, unless I had a lot of extra money, I would take the free room. Can't beat a free cruise. However, if money wasn't a big issue and I had the extra $1200 then I don't think I could pass up the Captain's Suite. I saw a video online someone posted and it was incredible looking!

 

Whatever you choose, I don't think you can go wrong!

 

Something else to consider:

 

Since you said this was a casino offer, if you take the free room on the Breeze then that is $1200 you save to gamble with which could in turn end up getting you more free cruise offers in the future. I always consider that with Carnival since their casino offers can be so good.

As much as a suite sounds wonderful, I'd go with the free one. I'm a solo traveler but if I'm going to get fancy, I'd rather have someone with me to share that fancy with. Even with that great deal, all you need is a place to sleep unless you spend a lot of time in a cabin. To me, it's a waste of money to go with a suite as a solo.
