Carnival Freedom is not for trivia lovers!

We enjoy the trivia, my husband isn't a sun person. We meet folks. We've never won but my husband and I compete with each other... and it's always a great feeling when I beat him:D Although I think he has beat me more :(

We have a gal from our meet and greet that is on the Freedom now. She stated that they have started the new American table menu.

The Liberty had tons of trivia last week.....seemed like it was going on 3 or 4 times a day at least down in the lobby.

I agree with you re: the Liberty. The amazing Brittany was the CD and Wally was her assistant. There were so many fun things to do. There was never a dull moment. I was cruising solo and did pretty much every activities on board. I'm disappointed to hear that about the Freedom as I will be sailing out of Galveston in 23 days. I hope they get everything ironed out before April 4th. I love all the activities and really want a ship on a stick.

We were on the Freedom sailing 11/29/14. the trivia was in the Red Frog at 10:45pm sea nights. And you received a tube of beer if you won & got your picture up on the wall. On the last day of the cruise they gave you the picture back. I'm glad they stopped giving SOS crappy plastic.

My goal is a SOAS and I love trivia. I was on the Freedom in November with Jen and there was plenty of trivia then.

As a solo playing trivia is a great way to get to meet people.

My gripe is when trivia is held in the casino bar with all the smoke. This did not happen on the Freedom.

We LOVED Jen. She is everywhere on the ship and always having fun. 80's music trivia with her was a blast. She also stopped for quite a while after one of the shows to visit with our daughter who felt like she was meeting a movie star. She is a little silly and over the top but that just made us love her more.

It really adds to the discussion to have people who don't like trivia, think it's boring, and think cruising is about more than trivia, post their feelings in here. When you're through, find a thread about something else you have no interest in and go post in it.

Whereas your post is such an uplifting, on-topic remark.

Perhaps you should start find a thread where people complain about other comments and post there.

We've sailed with Jen before on the Triumph and we really quite enjoyed her. She's very very British--loud, plain spoken, tends towards jokes that are slightly off color and she loves her bling. She is very, VERY sparkly in fact. We're actually really looking forward to seeing her again on the Freedom in a couple of weeks. :)

I kinda wish I knew who the ACD was gonna be..that makes the trip almost as much as the CD.

Apart from the off colour jokes I wouldn't say we were like that at all.

Never heard someone from the US call us lot loud (opinionated maybe) or loving our bling (thats only the chavs who are inspired by US gangsta culture).

As much as I like pub quizzes back home I never expected to love Trivia on a ship. Now it is one of my must have things. Both times on the Legend there was a crazy amount of Trivia which was great. Always had a haul of SOAS, medals and bubbly. :D

This was my point, exactly. On all my other Carnival cruises there was PLENTY of daily trivia to choose from. On the 2/15 Freedom cruise, it just wasn't offered. I know that they were out of ships on a stick so maybe that's why they didn't have much trivia. I will be back on the Freedom next month and I hope things have CHANGED!

Its interesting you mentioned the lack of SOAS as that was the same as our Legend cruise. Instead, for each thing won you got a medal and then you could exchange your 3 medals for SOAS.

Must be only the Brits I know then. ::shrug::

The day I cruise for Trivia is the day I quit cruising. IMHO seems a waste of money and time when I can buy a board game or app on phone. That's like saying they didn't have tablecloths and really messed my cruise. Glad you have more booked to recover hopefully.

We were on the Paradise last month and played quite a bit of trivia, but I can kind of understand some ships not having any on port days. One time it was just my husband and me along with one other couple. Another time it was just my husband, me and our son. We felt bad that no one else showed up, and each time offered to go find something else to do but they insisted it was fine and we played anyway (which is how I finally, after 14 years, won a golden ship on a stick!! :) ). But with so few participants I can understand why they might decide not to even offer it on port days.
