Rare sandinmyshoes Posted March 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2015 We are going on the Breakaway & are wondering if there is a standard outlet in the bathroom to plug in a nightlight. Other ships we have been on only had the razor outlet & not an outlet that accomodates standard size plugs for nightlights.
meatball_nyc Posted March 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2015 No. At least not in our BD balcony cabin. It's a shave only outlet. Bring some battery operated tea lights. Works better!
Godiva830 Posted March 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2015 There's no outlets in any of the bathrooms. Just a shaving outlet.
Sauer-kraut Posted March 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Yep that battery tea light is the best! If you want cool colors, bring an assortment of glow sticks on a string .... I had a red glow one night and yellow the next it was kind of fun.
watchdiva Posted March 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We used the outlet over the mirror in our SF Suite on the Pearl...it's on the left above the mirror next to the tub and it was perfect for an LED nightlight.
JerseyGem Posted March 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We used the outlet over the mirror in our SF Suite on the Pearl...it's on the left above the mirror next to the tub and it was perfect for an LED nightlight. Our regular balcony cabin on the BA did have an outlet- up high over the shelves. It kept our electric toothbrush charged. However, from what we could tell, it only worked when the bathroom light was turned on. We knew in advance that a regular nightlight might not work, so we brought a battery operated Christmas candle (about 8 inches tall). It worked well for a nightlight and also could work on the balcony- a little romantic light in the evenings.
Rare mking8288 Posted March 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2015 This is one of our many newer gadgets for travel (and, cruising) - USB power mini-LED lights (2 or 3 or 5, or even 6 LED's) that's very small, easily connect to those "lipstick" or "iPad sized external battery pack, or, with one of those old USB charger (or one with multiple USB charging port power brick - so that smartphone can remained connected & charging) Inexpensive & don't need to worry about changing/recharging another battery. I have a different one (flexible arm) with USB light for use with the laptop for reading in-flight. Cost is a little as $1 USD shipped free, get a few - great for your CC friends sailiing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Double-Sided-Pluggable-USB-LED-Night-Light-Power-Supply-Lamp-White-/131206667758?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e8c86ddee
marciemi Posted March 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Really interesting alternative - never saw this before! Will consider for our next cruise. In the past we've just gone to Michaels and bought one of the $1 tubes of 12 glow bracelets. Each one makes just enough light for a midnight bathroom trip without also lighting up the cabin. We've also used them to hang right inside the door if someone was out late at night so they had some light when walking in and could then use it as a miniflashlight to get around the room.
