Nellie's Beach at Labadee

Recommended Posts

We have a cabana reserved and we're wondering if the beaches there were rough enough to require water shoes? Thanks in advance.

I was there last week. Cabana is fantastic! We had an "overwater" cabana so we could go directly into the water. But it had a ladder so when I used a mat, I walked it out at the beach. The beach was sandy except as you approached it from in the water. At about waist deep or so and out a bit there were some rocks. I simply floated over them to the sandy area. So, you don't really need water shoes, but be careful.

Thanks for the info about not needing water shoes on Nellies. I was about to come here and ask the same thing. We don't plan on a cabana since we plan to spend most of our time exploring, but I do want to spend some of our day relaxing on a beach. I think Nellies might be a good choice for us. I've seen pictures in a number of reviews, and it looks beautiful.

I'm sure on some future cruise I will be wanting one of those over the water cabanas, but not this time.

Which one is nellies? I'm confused about where to go when we get on the island.. We have floating beach mats. Where do we get them?

The floating mats will be in the cabana area. Here's a map:
