Do you receive VIFP offers?

DH, my mom, my sister, her girlfriend, and I all receive the Casino offers if we're not booked. As soon as we're booked and the next round is released, we don't qualify. I'm not talking the almost free rooms, just the PTC with anywhere from $25-$40 casino cash. None of us are big gamblers my any means. They're lucky if I drop $60 in a week in there.

We received the Pack and Play offer and already had a cruise booked. My husband received it and he had only been on 3 cruises. I guess it was different since it was based on casino play? Nothing since but I wouldn't expect anything like that kind of offer again for a long time and we currently have 2 cruises booked. I am hoping we get another offer after these cruises so we can book more than one next year.

Thank you everyone for your input. So, it appears that there is no true rhyme or reason why some of us get the offers and some don't.

Or the flag that's set in their system to remove offers from being sent to those of us who have cruises booked is working for some and not for all.

Those of you getting the casino offers; they don't count for me because I know I'll never get one; I don't play and supposedly those offers are sent regardless of you having a cruise booked.

I normally have 2-3 cruises booked already, but I'm not booking additional cruises outside of the two I already have booked.

My wife son and I are all Platinum but we never get anything other than the 2 cat upgrade or the vista offer.

Don't have one booked and haven't been on CCL for the last 2-3 years.

I am waiting to be bowled over with a nice offer to cruise CCL again but not holding my breath.

I got the pack and play and booked 2 cruises like 3 weeks ago and then today I got another offer like 75% off plus OBC. The one I got last month was my first offer and my PVP called to tell me that I could book an Alaskan cruise with it. She also said if I book at least 2 cruises a year with the offers she will make sure my name gets on that list to keep getting offers. Idk if that was true or not but I did get a second offer almost immediately. I don't gamble much but you can convince them you do with buying in and cashing out quite frequently. That's what I did on my last cruise in November and i'm now getting the offers and my dad who spent $0 is not getting them. So I really feel you get the offers if you show you spend time in the casino, not a lot of money. There are the lucky few who get offers for being platinum and diamond while others don't. Its all random I think and maybe they reward those who keep taking advantage because they want those ships filled!

Our onboard spending last cruise was almost $900.00. I call that high (or at least significant), but we have received no VIFP offers of anything other than 2 category upgrade, which on our oceanview cabin means practically nothing, IMHO.

We're Diamond and the only offer we've ever received is the Vista offer for Europe. We don't spend a lot of money in the casino, if we even go, so I'm not expecting a casino offer. It would be nice to receive one of the "free" cruises. Maybe someday we'll be on their list.

My onboard spending fluctuates.

I spoke to someone who handles the complaints and she is the one who told me that when promotions go out, they look at guests who already have cruises booked and remove them from the promotion blast.

I'm not sure why Carnival does that; it really makes no sense.

But to the person who suggested that I play the game with them and go in and play every so often and cash out; I just may do that to get a casino offer. But I shouldn't have to do that.

It's not the casino offers I was hoping to get in the first place since I don't really play; I'd like to be the lucky recipient of the emails that state I can cruise for $100 or $200.

Oh well; guess I should be happy with the other perks they give, because they don't have to do that either.

I don't mean the ones that appear in the VIFP Members Offers section; I'm referring to the ones that appear in the My Special Offers section.

I've been on 10 Carnival cruises and have yet to have an offer appear in the My Special Offers section' date=' only the VIFP section.

I've inquired about this and was told the reason I don't get the special offers is because I already have cruises booked, but I've seen posts on here where people have cruises booked and get the offers. (Or that's what it seems to be)

What has been your experience? Are the special offers you're receiving Casino offers or are they some other type of offer? Also, do you have a cruise booked when you get your offer?

Thanks for your input![/quote']

The only thing showing currently is the Vista $749 offer. Several months ago it showed the 2 or 3 day cruise from the west coast for $25 per person which did us no good whatsoever being on the East coast.

Other than that we have never had any of these so called free cruises or casino offers and we are Diamond with 35 CCL cruises.

Strange that my PVP said she has never received any of these offers either but I can't see why she ever would being a CCL employee.

I don't get those either. I figure I don't receive them because by that time I've transferred my booking to my TA.

Do you currently have a cruise booked with Carnival? Or did you have one booked when you had the $25 per person offer?

I wasn't looking for a casino offer; I'd never expect to get one when I don't play. But if you play and haven't received one, that sucks.

I agree with you. She shouldn't get them; her cruises should be dirt cheap to begin with.

No I don't have a cruise booked currently and did not have one booked months ago when that $25 offer was made either.

We are not heavy gamblers but we do spend a decent amount of time at the casino tables.

There does not seem to be a consistent way CCL hands out these offers from what I see.

When I asked the PVP about it she was basically clueless too as to how the process for selection works.

We have 4 Carnival cruises and all we have ever seen is a $179 pp special for the 3-4 day bahamas cruises out of FL. Don't know how they came up with this because we don't do short cruises on Carnival. We did RCL for our short cruises 2 so far. Carnival has always been 7 day cruises for us. And I've also seen the choose your own room "special", 2 category upgrade within your type-inside to inside, outside to outside etc. It makes no sense since we always choose our stateroom when we book. Right now RCL and Norwegian are giving us better specials than Carnival.
