You're best bet is Bayside. They have a lot of shops and restaurants there. It's 1.2 miles from your hotel,,

Bayside is a bit further than 1.2 miles from the Miami Hilton AIRPORT where they are staying. It is close to 8 miles and will take about 20 minutes by taxi. We have found that there is not that much out by the airport, so we always stay at a hotel like the Hilton, Sheraton or Marriott that has a full service restaurant on the premises.

Overlooked the airport part I guess,,,thought they were staying at the Hilton downtown:(

Coral Gables has tons of really good restaurants but two favorites are the Miller Ale House on Miracle Mile and Flemings on LeJeune Rd, both within 5 miles of the airport. There are Cuban restaurants on LeJeune Rd just outside the airport, too numerous to mention. Ask at the front desk of the Hilton. The Airport Hilton has 2 restaurants, the Blue Lagoon Saloon and the Coral Cafe, right in the hotel. I used to work on Blue Lagoon Drive. One of my favorite restaurants is the 94th Aero Squadron on Red Road (NW 57th Ave, just north of Blue Lagoon Drive), because I got married there 20 years ago. The food is outrageously good and they have old airplanes and army trucks sitting around.

Looking for good food in Miami. We will be staying at Hilton Miami airport one day before we sail. Any suggestions on a great place to eat? Hopefully a Cuban place but I'm open to anything.

For lunch, there is Palacio de los Jugos (Juice Palace) on 57th Ave and Flagler (the Hilton is about 15 blocks away on 57th). Much more than juices, it's a collection of food stalls in an open air market. Some specialize in roast pork, others seafood, and of course juices. Very inexpensive, fresh and full of local flair. At Bayside avoid the chains and head to Lombardy they have great seafood platters. There's a bunch of choices in Miami for dinner the night before, it depends what you want to spend. Coral Gables is relatively close to the Hilton. Giralda Dr between Douglas and Lejeune (37th to 42nd Ave) has many choices. For real unique google Red Fish Grill. Enjoy
