Solararc Posted March 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2015 Greetings fellow Cruisers, Long time cruiser/first time Haven guest, just curious if we can host our friends children in our haven suite, they are in a non haven suite but thought if mom and dad want some alone time in the cabin we could host the kids for a few hours, I'm not asking for use of the courtyard amenities just our private cabin *Living large one week at a time*

Go for it[emoji12] We have hosted BBQ's in the GV on the Dawn. We had approximately 35 people once and 50 on another occasion. The cost was about $20 per person. We didn't serve alcohol so don't know how that would effect the cost. We were able to sit everyone outside. The deck on the Jewel class ships would not be able to accommodate nearly this many people. Both times we did it about 5:30 as we were leaving Cozumel and the scenery and sunset was beautiful.

Thank you Toyotaford, I remember seeing or hearing about it. They have 16 gals and both GV's through a partial comp with the casino (CAS). I figured the casino may even comp it. And for the record, we like Fords but then Kyle Busch too. ;)

I wonder how this would work in regard to the UDP and UBP that we all have? Or....with the comps that CAS gives us for dinner and a bottle of wine two nights or more a cruise. Or....the Platinum dinners we get. Lots to look into but plenty of time to do it! Something to look into for sure! Kingofwylietx Posted March 17, 2015 #22 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Subscribed. I love the idea of having a private bbq while on the cruise. I expect that we select the main dishes and sides.

I let the staff do it both times I did it. They emailed me for approval before the trip. We had steak, chicken, pork chops and shrimp kabobs. 3 or 4 salads and the same number of desserts. The second time I did it we had several teenagers and they served brownies along with the other desserts. We also had corn on the cob, baked potato and bread. Which ship are you going to be on? The deck area on the Star and Dawn are amazing. The wall in the dining area and on the deck can be opened between the rooms on these two ships. We have both GV's booked on the Gem. I thought they connected, but now understand they don't. Harriet

Harriet No they don't. And they kinda messed up the upper deck on that class ship when they added the rooms above the GV. Still an amazing room. The last time we were on the Gem we were sailing out of NYC and had to leave our deck to have a view of the Statue of Liberty. We had sailed out of there before on the Gem and had both GV's so it was not an issue but the last time we just had one and it happened to be on the wrong side.
