Breakaway message at the spa

Has anyone had a message at the spa on the Breakaway? If so, how was it and was it worth it? I was able to find an old pricing list for the spa and thought the prices were a little steep. $269 for a couples message for 50 min. Never had a full body message before and thought I would try it on the cruise if people say its worth it.

I for one always get a massage on board, starts the vacation off on a high note, done the couple massage once the book a solo for the very next day. In my opinion it's worth every penny

Wow that is expensive, considering at payed $45 for a great 60 minute massage at Maya Chan

IMO the rates for spa services on cruise ships are much higher than you'd see on land. Being a captive audience the spa has no competition and charges as much as they can. Most ships offer discounts on spa services during port days so if you want to do a massage this would be the way to save some money.

I've done massages on ship before and did enjoy it. Yes, it may seem expensive but only you can decide if it's worth it to you.

I had a massage on Breakaway and it was good, but IMHO not worth what they were charging which was quite high. I've gotten a decent massage at a reputable place in NYC for nearly half the price.

Even though it wasn't worth what they charge, I wouldn't say I'd never go again. We generally cruise twice a year and I'll splurge for one every few years when the mood strikes.

You can get deals on massages when in port or if you are a latitudes member. The massages are very good. Be warned they can convince the hardest sell to buy one of the "necessary" products. If you are strong, you can avoid spending an extra $100 in ointments or lotions. LOL

Massages are very relaxing, and you could always tell the massage therapist to ease up on the pressure or apply more pressure so it's comfortable for you...that's all personal preference.

You could wait and see what deals they have while you're in port. If you're going on the Bermuda cruise, you will be in Bermuda for 3 days straight, so plenty of time to get a massage and to explore the beautiful island!

Funny you mention that, because I was expecting a hard sell at the end of my Breakaway massage based on past experience, but received no sales pitch all. The masseuse did seem a little bit rushed after the massage ended, so perhaps that was the reason.
