maggieq Posted April 30, 2015 #76 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Not being a Carnival fan, I actually was really shocked when I looked at the video for the Vista. The tamed-down decor, outdoor dining venues, and the Havana rooms with lanais looked fantastic. The Havana rooms with exclusive pool and decor were an amazing idea. Time will tell if the plans come to fruition in real life, but from a draft perspective, the ship looks fantastic. Depending on how she looks in actuality, it could very well make me try the ship. I second that. The interior of carnival ships remind me of gaudy casino hotels. Looking at the ctn in 2016
adjjb12 Posted April 30, 2015 #77 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I was really surprised at how much I liked it when I watched the video. The ship looks great and I'm not a big Carnival fan. I really like the SkyRide idea.

Rare mcatmcat Posted April 30, 2015 #79 Share Posted April 30, 2015 For me carnival is below NCl but more than willing to try Vista. Mugabe royal will stop playing games for 2016
jticarruthers Posted April 30, 2015 #80 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Swore never to do Carnival again but putting down a deposit on Vista in the Med for '16 today. Ship looks interesting, pricing significantly better than RCL/NCL/Disney, itinerary matches what we want, guess its time to give them a try again and hope the bad experience was the old/small boats rather than the line itself. DCT61 Posted April 30, 2015 #81 Share Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Not too sure about those Havana Suites with the hammocks. Looks like they are directly on the promenade, with people walking between your "terrace" and the ocean view. At least on the OASIS/ALLURE the aft CLs were up higher than the sports deck. The hammocks just wouldn't seem that relaxing to me. Edited April 30, 2015 by DCT61
adjjb12 Posted April 30, 2015 #82 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I was wondering that too and looked at the deck plan. They're cabana suites that are near the Havana pool, on the side but not directly in front of them. I like the idea, it even has door access so you can leave your terrace out the back and go and come to the pool/bar. Jenjer Posted April 30, 2015 #83 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I will be defiantly be comparing Harmony VS Vista pricing for sure. We have never sailed Carnival before the I am bored with the same islands year after year. Carnival does offer some alternatives. I like the idea of the Havana Cabana rooms and the family rooms. Royal seems to be normal rooms or expensive Jr suits with no benefits or big money suites with benefits. We always sail in Mini suits on NCL and they blow RCCL balcony rooms out of the water. Awesome HUGE bathrooms and showers. No suite benefits but the price is reasonable unlike in my opinion Jr suites.
DCT61 Posted April 30, 2015 #84 Share Posted April 30, 2015 In the past Carnival has had very little (if any) amenities for those staying in suites (early boarding?) will be interesting to see if they change that.
Bigtex1622 Posted April 30, 2015 #85 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Nope, still a family of 4, shoved into a cabin half the size of Royal, just is not going to work, and is NO vacation to me. Last time on Carnival, we had to get 2 cabins. We learned our lesson. Better luck next time.
