GazW Posted April 8, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 8, 2015 The drinking age of 21 and over sailing from North America is very clear on Celebrity's website. If you saw otherwise, it should have been reported. From Celebrity's Alcohol Policy (website): "In certain circumstances where local laws permit or require, Celebrity Cruises may modify this policy..." Not too sure how clear that really is? ailetoile Posted April 8, 2015 #27 Share Posted April 8, 2015 If your original departure port is from North America, the minimum drinking age is 21. If your original departure port is from any other continent, the minimum drinking age is 18. Note that if you have a birthday while on the cruise that will put you over the legal drinking age, you may get a new Sea Pass issued at Guest Services as long as you provide a government-issued ID such as a driver’s license. This does not change even if your ship docks somewhere where the minimum drinking age is different during the cruise.
oneputt18 Posted April 8, 2015 #28 Share Posted April 8, 2015 Celebrity's policy is stated in the "Guest Conduct POlicy" http://www.celebritycruises.com/plan-and-book/before-you-go-during-cruise?tab=before_you_go_during_cruise#tertiary/before_you_go_policies

5milesfromtheocean Posted April 8, 2015 #30 Share Posted April 8, 2015 If you have an under 21 son or daughter (18-21) they have probably found a way to have an adult beverage by now... I'd wager they can find a way on the ship as well. They just won't be served by Celebrity staff.
EaglesWin Posted April 9, 2015 #31 Share Posted April 9, 2015 That's exactly how it is on other cruise lines - after a certain time at night (11:00PM on NCL for example), certain clubs are 18+. Drinking age doesn't change - that is ALWAYS 21+. 18 to 20 can drink beer and wine on NCL with parents permission (in international waters). Charles4515 Posted April 9, 2015 #32 Share Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) Aren't you happy we were never 18.....lol, lol. :p ;) :D When I was 18 the legal drinking age was 18! My recollection was the age change was justified as being because of auto accidents among young drivers. Algebralovr Posted April 9, 2015 #33 Share Posted April 9, 2015 On sailings from North America, drinking age on board is 21. On sailings from other locations, the drinking age on board is 18. My DS is annoyed, since he will only be 20 during our next cruise. He enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner a few times in Europe.
