Port Canaveral 2016

We were on the Carnival Breeze it's inaugural year (now I can't remember when that was without looking at my signature). It is a beautiful ship and the sushi is delicious. However, we had an Ocean Suite and had the worst creaking noise we have ever heard. We have been on many cruises and have never had this. To make a long story short, I ended up having to record the noise as it kept us awake at night.

Carnival said it was due to where they fit the ship together and the flexing or whatever. Regardless, we ended up getting $1000 back but I would have rather NOT had the noise and they kept the $1000.

Would I cruise on The Breeze again, probably not but everything else was great. We did like Miracle better. We are looking forward to the Magic in 2/16.

I am booked on the valor March 2016. The article above says it is going to do a massive dry dock in March. Does anyone have an idea if that would be actually after March? If not what happens to trips already booked?

I also read somewhere that they postponed dry dock. I looked at the schedule and it looks like they have nonstop cruises planned so doesn't look like they will dry dock. I just booked Aug 6, 2016. I wish they would dry dock and add a Guys Burger and/or Red Frog pub. Not likely though as they seemed to have cut back on the 2.0 stuff.

Underwhelmed to say the least. As far as Victory for the short cruises, it's great! But we were really hoping for something a bit better for the longer cruises. Had Valor still been on schedule for a dry dock prior to summer 2016 then it would have been a perk. Now? Not so much.

We also had a cruise booked for March, 2016 on the Valor. There was a post two days ago (which mysteriously disappeared )with an e-mail from the present cruise director on the Valor stating that the Valor was going in for dry dock in March, 2016 and would resume sailing in April 2016.

Today after seeing the press release from Carnival I called to see if I could get more information. Because I had booked through Casino Promotions (had a free cruise certificate) that is who I called. The rep I spoke with was not aware of the press release. Even her Supervisor had not seen the release. Imagine that! :D After much searching the release was found.

I was concerned because my certificate stated I could not change sailing dates or ship after the cruise was booked. I knew that Carnival would let me change if they cancelled my cruise, but I need a specific week in March, and I really did not want to give up my aft cabin. No problem, once the rep read about the impending dry-dock, she changed my cruise to the Glory out of Miami.

If you have to have a certain date or port in March I would be pro-active and see if you can change plans. By the way, I asked her when Carnival would notify the cruisers if the dry-dock was going to take place in March. She said there is no set time to tell those already booked.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Great news that Magic is coming to Port Canaveral. We will have to put that ship on our list of cruises to do :D .

Disappointing to see the PC itineraries.... No more ABC island cruises... I think this will backfire on carnival! It's expensive to fly into Orlando not to mention you must either arrange for transportation or rent car to get to port. Some people do, some don't but it's not as much about the ship to me as the ports. And I am definitely not flying to PC to head to the Bahamas.

It is great that the Magic is coming to Pt. Canaveral. Pt. Canaveral will be the new home to RC Oasis of the Seas, Carnival MUST compete with this terrific ship by bringing one of their own newer and larger ships.

People also spend time in Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach and Orlando before and after a cruise, its a perfect place to leave from.

The 7 day Eastern itinerary that the Magic would run is a great run. Amber Cove, San Juan, Grand Turk, and St. Thomas in one itinerary! Heck yeah! And even on a great ship like the Magic, sweet!
