lovebears Posted April 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2015 I am looking for reviews of going with Scenic Tours Antigua for an all inclusive day pass to Pineapple Beach Resort. It includes transportation to the resort and back to the port, as well as a stop at Devils Bridge. The tour is called Pineapple East Tour with Scenic Tours Antigua. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
Froufie Posted April 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Was also considering using Scenic Tours - I don't have any specific info on the above tours - but in general looks like some very good reviews on tripadvisor in regard to this tour company: http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g147243-d1574935-Reviews-Scenic_Tours_Antigua-St_John_s_Saint_John_Parish_Antigua_Antigua_and_Barbuda.html Edited April 28, 2015 by Froufie
Peachy59 Posted June 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I would love to hear from anyone who has done this as well. Sounds like a great way to see a little of the island and also a great beach day! They do get great reviews on Trip Advisor, but I emailed yesterday and have yet to hear back. One thing that concerns me is the end time of 4:00. It seems a good distance from the pier and I like to get back about an hour before all aboard, which is 4:30. I have had several communications from them - all fairly prompt - and I think they will work with you on timing - our ship is leaving at 4 pm - and they did agree on a 2:30 pm pickup to get us back to the port by 3 pm at the latest! NCTribeFan Posted June 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2015 Froufie - does he take you to Long Bay beach? When DD & I sailed Victory in 2009, we toured with Gordon and had a beach stop at Long Bay. Back then, the hotel (not Grand Pineapple but one down near the "end" of the beach) was still in operation. The water was amazing. I'd love to return there. Went to Coconut Beach Club in November 2013 but I see that it's currently closed. Knowing how timelines can often be rather inaccurate, I don't want to plan on returning there and find it still hasn't reopened. Besides, I really want to return to Long Bay. Looks like you're sailing a few weeks before we are. We have 8 ports in 11 nights! It's going to be exhausting, even though I've been to all of them except Tortola and I'm not planning on doing much of anything. We have 6 ports in 10 days - only 3 sea days (not enuf for me LOL) so it will be a bit exhausting - so many beaches...so little time LOLOL :)
NCTribeFan Posted June 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2015 It looks really nice, but $75 for a beach day is rather steep. I can't eat/drink that much! With 8 ports, even if I don't do much, the cost is getting up there. And, of course, I want a couple of post-cruise days in San Juan afterward to recuperate (and that isn't cheap). I'll keep my eye on Coconut Beach Club. Maybe they really will reopen before early December. And not raise the price too much. It was $45 when I was there and I think it had already gone up to $50 (plus transportation is separate; we had a van full so it was reasonable). We're actually NOT doing the day pass for $75 - but just the 'beach/tour' option which is only $20 pp! I figure this is what we would pay for round trip transportation anyways to most of the beaches so this works out great - guaranteed return transportation and a beach with some stops along the way - all for only $20 (yes we will need to pay if we want to rent loungers/umbrellas and of course for any food/drink as we wish!) NCTribeFan Posted June 25, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Silly me! I just glanced at it and thought it was $50. So, does anyone know the cost of renting chairs/umbrellas? I can present this info to our Roll Call. There may be some that want the day pass and others who don't. I'm still going to contact Coconut Beach and see how they're progressing. I have been to all of the ports before.....we are also looking to cut costs as an expensive excursion in each port is out of the question. Let me know if you find out anything about Coconut Beach Club. Thanks

We were on that cruise and enjoyed several tours she organized. Edited June 29, 2015 by lrtjs5
NCTribeFan Posted June 30, 2015 #15 Share Posted June 30, 2015 Yep, that's her. Most of that crowd kept their Liberty San Juan booking. I tried to get some of them to switch.
Shekim Posted July 13, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2015 I emailed them and they are closed for the foreseeable future. We will be there April 2016 and they will not be open by then either. I don't think they plan to rebuild

Have you joined the roll call? If not here is the link... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2017463&page=14 (you should also check out the oct 24th roll call as most of the action is there since many are doing the back to back cruises: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2016699&page=46 As for my group - right now we have not made any definite plans still deciding between a) scenic tours pineapple beach b) scenic tours island/beach tour or c) Island tour with Lawrence of Antigua.... If you wish to do this tour you might want to go ahead and book it? Otherwise I can let you know once we decide but might not be a while yet? Hope to see you onboard! :) Edited July 16, 2015 by Froufie
Rare bobmacliberty Posted March 13, 2016 #19 Share Posted March 13, 2016 We are considering the Scenic Tours Pineapple East tour this coming June and would leave to hear from OP (or anyone else) about their experience with this tour. We are interested in an all-inclusive day pass and seeing Devil's Bridge, which is why we're leaning toward this particular tour. I've contacted Scenic Tours with a few questions but am looking for a customer perspective. Thanks.

Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted March 14, 2016 #21 Share Posted March 14, 2016 We got to Pineapple Resort in time for their great breakfast buffet when we went in November. There is also a lunch buffet but do NOT miss eating at the Outhouse. It is a hike up a pretty steep hill but Miss Mary's ribs & chicken are to die for & she is the sweetest, most welcoming little old lady & the view from up there is GORGEOUS! Be sure & sign your name on one of the boards.

Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted March 15, 2016 #23 Share Posted March 15, 2016 is the outhouse at the pineapple Beach resort? Yes the Outhouse is at Pineapple Resort. It is a bit of a hike to get to it but well worth it! The walkway to the top is paved. The view from the top is GORGEOUS but I don't have any pics that do it justice. Sweet Miss Mary grilling her amazing ribs & chicken. I don't know where all those beer cans came from! :p
