MSC Cruises' Divina, a ship custom-built for the North American market, will return to year-round sailing from Miami beginning fall 2015.

The redeployment brings the 3,500-passenger ship full circle. When it launched in November 2013, the glitzy ship was seen as the Italian line's salvo into the competitive North American market. To that end, the line made a number of modifications to appeal to American tastes, including enhanced entertainment, a movie screen poolside, a sports bar featuring American pub grub, a more restrictive smoking policy and significant training for crewmembers.

Divina was not built for North America and it has always had the big screen by the pool and the sports bar! the ship sailed in Europe from May 2012, this article is somewhat misleading.

Mike, where is smoking allowed? Is there a smoking area in the One Pool? If the policy is too restrictive we might stick to Europe.

There is a smoking area at the One Pool. It is near the door to the elevator.

Thanks for the information regarding smoking. I assume that there is still a Cigar Bar on board (unlike the Preziosa) for when the weather is inclement.

We were booked on a repo cruise Miami to Genoa April 2016, looks like that will be cancelled but have not had a reply from my TA yet. If so we will look at a cruise in the Carribbean or Med. The price of the repo cruises is so attractive (especially for YC) that I am sorry to miss out. Just completed a 21 dayer on Preziosa and am missing the ship already.
