Awesome about your upgrade! I am hoping I too will be upgraded someday....well except for my Norway cruise where I have an aft balcony. I will be adjusting my preferences right before that cruise and then back again after the cruise.

The times we've been upgraded at check-in, I've just kept checking the old cabin assignment until all checked luggage arrived.

 

I know, more work......but I certainly needed the excercise and really don't trust communications between departments.

Has anyone ever been upgraded from an aft balcony cabin or do they pretty much leave those alone since they are so coveted? We've got 1400 booked on the Indy in a few months. I am petrified that this will be the one and only time the Upgrade Fairy will visit us and I don't want her to. Lol! I've got my preferences set to no auto upgrades. Just wanted to see if anyone's heard of upgrades from the afts.

 

The couple behind us an the coveted aft corner D1 and were upgraded to the JS next to us. I heard her whining about it and thought to myself I would have changed my upgrade status to at the least CALL if I had a highly desired room. She then mentioned, we should share a cabana on Labadee. I thought, no way in heck! They mentioned it again later on the balcony.

I like the upgrade fairy. She gave me a wonderful birthday present at the pier last year. I'm sure my squeal is still reverberating through that cruise terminal.

Congratulations. It is always nice to hear about an upgrade and a nice upgrade at that. My wife and I are getting closer to achieving a personal record that I never envisioned. We are within 100 nights (points) of making Pinnacle and never an upgrade. Not even an offer to upgrade for a fee. I know there are many others with their own no upgrade record so we are not unique. However, this is the way I look at it; a personal record is a personal record, so 700 points without an upgrade here we come. And, yes I do have I will accept an upgrade checked in my profile.

Got our first upgrade on an upcoming cruise. sky suite 2 to celebrity suite. We are Elite/Diamond and our TA worked a miracle lol.
