i also have two rooms on the 3/18/06 cruise on the liberty ..upper deck rooms- floor 6 , room numbers 6453 and 6449. Does anyone know about the noise level within these rooms. They are at the back of the ship over the victoria lounge.:p
We were in 6449 on the Glory, which is a sister ship to the Liberty. We were not able to sleep until about 2:00 AM any night. It literally felt as if you were in the lounges, it was so loud. And the vibration from the music was awful. If you want to sleep, get your room changed. We had friends in 6453 and they said it was just as bad in their room as well.

I for one would love to change my cabin, but the ship is sold out, so I hope the earplugs work. This is the only time we did not get on a deck with cabins above and below. The cabins were not available, now I know why these were!! Oh well, I will start praying hard now for quiet nights!!

We were in a group and one of the ladies next door complained to the pursers desk about the noise. They offered her an inside down the hall to sleep in and she had no problems with it. Hopefully you're inside cabin will be fine. It was the balcony cabins that were the worst.

I was very worried after reading the posts here so I upgraded to an 8B on the Empress deck. Cost was an extra $100 per cabin. We were in 6395 and 6397 now we are in 7365 and 7367.

Thanks so much for the info. I too only worried about what was above us.

We just returned a few weeks ago from the Conquest and we were in room 2369 it was an oceanview room and every night or shall I say early morning around 5am I would awaken to a screaching noise and I neved could figure out what it was. This was my first cruise and it really freaked me out because it sounded like the boat was scraping up against something but I never complained about it,,, just wondering if anyone else has ever heard this noise? (my hubby says it was just me being over nervous on my first cruise , but he could sleep through anexplosion so he never heard the noise)

If you were on a lower deck and near the Bow you probable heard the anchor lines/chains being dropped. It could also have been the thrusters as she is easing into the docks.

Both of those noises can be a little nerve racking at first. Fortunately they dont last long and you can usually get right back to sleep. Only ran into this once.

Hope that helps.

We just came off the Valor and was on the Lido deck right near the elevator.

Not only did we hear people come off the elevator after 1 AM, being loud and drunk, but also heard loud noises by the pool area which is on the same floor.

Same thing with the room right near us, this loud party lasted until the wee hours, and then when we got up the following am to get breakfast, we pasted these cabins and of course they had the do not disturb sign on them.

I like to party too, but at least I have some consideration for others and keep the noise down a bit.

I am going on the Liberty and will be on deck 6, but the noise will not bother me as I am one of those people who close the casino, and when I go back to my cabin I am as quiet as a mouse.

We are on vacation so lets just enjoy it, and as one of the hosts once said, you can sleep when you get home.

Can anyone give me any specifics on the Victory Deck 6. All the posts are from other ships with similar layouts. Thanks

Hi Sandy

We were in cabin 6314 on the Victory on 9/25/2005 and had NO Problem with noise from the casino, that was right under us! A little noise from the room nextdoor. Thats was all.

Hope this helps!

I'm on Victory, cabin 6432. I was so thrilled to get a large balcony, that I didn't really think about any noise factor. Will go see what is below us but I think it may be a disco.

Anyone been in that cabin or 6459 on the other side?

I was on the Valor back in May and had room # 6320. I had no problem with the noise. It was quite. We were under the casino.

I am booked on the Conquest for April 2006 and have room 6355 and 6359. I hope the noise won't be a problem on that side of the ship.

Nascar Girl: I just returned from the Liberty 9/30 Med cruise and we had cabin 6447 .. 6449 was next door. We were over the Piano Man Bar not the Victoria Lounge. There was noise that was noticeable from the Piano Man bar until about 1 a.m. It seemed to be more noticeable in the bathroom to me. The first night it kept my partner up until he pulled out his earplugs. Either we got used to it, or we were so exhausted after touring all day, it didn't bother us much for the rest of the cruise. The Piano Man Bar is open until 1:00 a.m. and sometimes went a little later. We slept with the balcony door open and the sounds of the ocean and fresh breeze masked the sounds a bit. It honestly didn't bother me much. The beds are sooooo comfortable, I slept the best I ever have!!!! I loved the location too ... close to the staircase and elevators -- easy access to the aft pool, Lido and dining rooms. One floor up from the beginning of the Promenade. I think you'll like the location.

I just returned from the 9/30 sailing and was in cabin 6440 (port, inside cabin) and the noise was loud. We were just above the Victoria lounge and it was noisy most every night. They have their talent show tryouts in this lounge and you'll hear the noise till midnight every night.

However.... we were with a couple in 6420, and they didn't notice the noise.... so go figure. If you're a light sleeper, beware.

Other than that, the cabins are very nice - clean and well maintained.

We weren't in the specific cabins you mentioned, but we were in 6457 (inside on the same corner as 6459) on our first cruise. No noise worth mentioning except for the stairway door opening and closing. It wasn't anything that kept us awake.

Does anyone have information regarding the Verandah deck on Liberty? We are in room 8276, any feedback would be great!!

Thanks!!

We were in 8384 on the Med cruise... a bit further aft than you. I think we were right below the Lido buffet. We did hear some noise... footsteps and what we called "the horse" every night, along with some other sounds but none were terribly loud. I didn't have any problem getting to sleep, that's for sure!
