BEWARE: Noise Alert for Cabins on Deck 6

i also have two rooms on the 3/18/06 cruise on the liberty ..upper deck rooms- floor 6 , room numbers 6453 and 6449. Does anyone know about the noise level within these rooms. They are at the back of the ship over the victoria lounge.:p

Nascargirl -

We are on the Conquest 1/1 in 6461 and 6465. Will try to remember to update you on the noise situation when we get back. Never been on Carnival so I don't know how much that Aft Lounge gets used. On both Princess and NCL there was the main theatre in the bow and an AFT lounge for evening entertainment. The entertainment in the aft lounge ended when we went to bed anyhow (we had second seating so we would go to the late entertainment.)

On the other hand, looking at the deck plans, the aft lounge doesn't look that large. Certainly not the two storied lounges I am used to on other CL. As long as it isn't the Disco or the Casino, I am pretty sure entertainment will be wrapping up about the time we are going to bed.

Help we are in 6319 and travel agent keeps telling me we can not move up unless we pay additional $150. per person and lose our $200. shipboard credit - did you guys pay that much to switch? thanks!

Any clue how noisy this room will be? I see it is right above the sports bar and I am a very light sleeper.

Any noise from below? Its right above the shops!

6321 (where I was) isn't far from this cabin and I didn't hear any noise except when someone was walking in the hall and talking. Over the shops should be fine. They're not cranking out dance music really loud in there!

We were in cabin 6361 on the Valor back in October. This is on the Upper Deck. Noise does travel up!!! The Promenade Deck was below us...let's just say that was interesting!!!! We heard the "One Man Band" every night as we got ready for dinner....he sang "Billie Jean" at least twice every night :). He was usually done by 11:00 or so every night. This didn't really bother us because we were always out at that time. You could also occasionally hear the slot machines in the casino. So, if you are a light sleeper or early bed person....you might want to think about these cabins. We had a great time anyway!!!!!!

Hey all...

Just got back from the Liberty today and was on the upper deck cabin 6330 right above the casino crap table and yes you can hear the noise especialy when someone is winning..lol. We stayed up late most nights and were pretty tired when we turned in so it really did'nt bother us to much. However if you do go to bed early there could be some issues. Happy Cruisin to All

I just got off of the Liberty (12/4 sailing) and stayed in the "dreaded" cabin 6365. It was a bit noisy and I could hear the live singer very clearly while dressing for dinner every night. However, I am quite the night owl and there was virtually no noise at my 3 AM bedtime.

This cabin did not affect my cruise in a negative way but someone who likes to sleep may have a hard time. ;)

I have posted before that we had two rooms above the disco, 6400 and 6402 I think, on the Conquest. It was very noisy. The room vibrated to the beat of the bass. It would be fine if you are night people, we aren't.

Wow - I didn't realize you would be able to hear things through the floor, we have a balcony and I am a little concerned with the noise, but if you could hear it coming up through the floor of your inside room, I guess the empress deck is the only safe floor.

Guess we better just plan to party all night long - lol!!!!

I think we can plan all we want and try to get the quietest cabin possible but you never know who might be in the cabin next to you. Several years ago, dh and I were in an inside cabin with nothing but other cabins above and below us. We ended up with a crying baby next door. At least with the casino or disco it ends eventually. The crying baby cried all night. I always take earplugs now.

For all of you who have experienced these cabins above the casino...

have you noticed any greater problem with smoke? The assumption would be, NO, but the thought entered my mind, so I thought I would ask.

Looks like I am either right above the casino or right above the tuxedo shop (or somewhere in between), depending on how the deck maps "stack up" :) . So it should be somewhere between extremely quiet and extremely noisy:D .

Why did you bring this thread up to ask about Smoking:confused:

Original thread is about noise, not smoke:confused:

Maybe you should start a new thread about smoking issues;)

Lakeman953,

In answer to your question,

1. There is already a large number of people who have been in these deck 6 cabins above the casino gathered on this thread. My question was regarding these cabins and the various drawbacks to their location.

2. I asked my smoke question on another, newer thread regarding these cabins in general and was kindly directed by another member to this highly informative thread.

3. I have been thoroughly reading every thread regarding the Liberty since I booked my cruise a month ago. There have been no such recent threads with the depth of information and input that this thread provided, so I thought it would do more good than harm to bring it back to the front. The important information here seems to be the kind that isn't outdated in 3 months and didn't see the harm. However, now that I think about the "turns" that threads can take when someone brings up smoking, I can see the implications of bringing that "debate" up and assure you that I will not be interested in any such ot philosophical debate on this purposeful thread:D .

4. Most of all, I participated in this thread because I am interested in the noise levels too. I realize now that my post did not touch on that as much as I intended...it was late and I apologize.

Let me amend...

Does anyone have any feedback for cabin 6333 on the Liberty as far as a Noise Alert? Maybe I'll be okay and be above the tuxedo shop? Any other reasons that these cabins might be less-amenable to getting a good-night's-sleep, such as smoke rising from the casino? (seems far fetched, but thought I would ask).

Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have also been reading every thread regarding the Liberty for the past month and never would have known about this one if you hadn't bumped it up. I'm now looking into changing my Deck 6 balcony for something a little quieter.

We had the same problem on the Valor last year. Mid-ship balcony cabins right above the piano player outside the casino. The sound was muffled somewhat (and we did get used it) but it's noisy!! This June we'll be on the Glory over the arcade. Are we going to have the same problem? Nothing bothers me while I'm cruising and I can sleep anywhere but not too sure about the rest of our gang. Can anyone help?

I appreciate the thanks meaty_petey and am glad you got the word in time to try to make a change.

Any more input on the Liberty 6333 neighborhood before I decide whether to go for a "downgrade" ?:D (You don't hear that very often;) ). My sailing is very full, so I'd have to go from a 4C to a 4B or A to get a different cabin location. Cheshyrkat had a quiet cabin a few doors forward of my current assignment on noisy deck 6, so maybe I'll push my cruise luck and stay where I am. Hmmmmm. We'll see!

We stayed in adjoining inside cabins 6299/6301 on the Glory almost 3 years ago. I brought a small fan to provide some "white noise". Didn't hear too much from the casino. A couple of times, someone must have hit on the slots, but overall it wasn't bad. Have the same cabins booked for our upcoming Valor cruise. Might call my PVP and see what the cost would be to upgrade, however, I suspect it will be mighty expensive.

Just my adding my two cents!!! the above rooms on the Destiny definitely heard the band underneath.(Criterion Lounge)

6344 was the extended balcony. and 6335 was inside. They were "rockin and rollin" to the wee hours.
