Do the streetcars actually go down Bourbon Street and other French Quarter streets or just around the perimeter of the French Quarter?

Canal Street, River front, and St. Charles - so basically just very near the quarter

Definitely not down Bourbon Street. :)

Also Loyola

No buses or streetcars go down Bourbon. it's a walking city as the street is also closed off to vehicles at night. Just the Cross Streets are open until at least 10++ blocks down.

If you go to New Orleans you should get on the St Charles Street car, you can get on it on Canal St. it goes past the beautiful homes on St Charles Ave, it is part of visiting N.O.
