But it does

Another wonderfully useful post from Jancruz....

It matters because they want to force people to use the room service. This has nothing to do with food safety and everything to do with forcing people to spend money. It is an attempt to hold people hostage by their stomachs.

All I said is that it obviously matters since they are putting new rules in place..not my rules..

D. W. said that If I get busted she will put money in my canteen fund so I can buy cookie's whilst in the Brig .

In the movies, they sometimes smuggle a hacksaw into the jail inside a cake...I'll bring you a cookie inside a cake. Now if I can just figure out how to get the cake out of the dining room ;)

This is the first I have heard of this rule. When my son was younger we would get cabins on deck 8 close to the Blue Lagoon and he would get dinner to go and eat in the cabin while we were getting ready for the night. We would drop him off at the Kids Crew and then go to our adults dinner. It worked well for us. We don't really bring food back to our cabin now thankfully.

Travelerblue, that's exactly what we did back when the kids were young. Now it's just 'maybe' an occasional snack

I only learned of this new 'rule' in the last couple days myself (from threads here & other boards)

Ok, I'll pack a hollowed out hacksaw later ;)

It's a new rule and many are hearing it for the first time.

why do you say it is forcing people to spend money? Last time I checked no one required you to have food in your cabin? Yes, there are some who enjoy eating in their crowded little stateroom, but the majority of people, at least the ones I know, rarely order room service. This is the same in a hotel; they too charge a 18 to 20% tip and usually a service charge, but most don't order room service.

I started this thread as a lark and was just having fun (notice the ;) in the subject line)

But as often happens on CC, it's starting to turn ugly LOL

It's nothing serious, only a cookie (or other food, it's not like we'll starve onboard)-NOW WHEN I CAN'T BRING MY HOTDOG BACK TO THE CABIN, THEN NCL & I WILL HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM lol

I say stuff your bra full of cookies... Or down your pants... Do you think they would search you <giggle> :D

I don't know why this particular bit of scorn keeps coming up. Plenty of people have explained that they like to eat out on their balcony.

That is reasonable, I do see what you are saying. Maybe it was preferential treatment, I don't know. They do ask for your room number at the hostess stand.

If I were not in a suite, I would still dispute any charge for a product I asked to carry out of a restaurant (but they required to have delivered).

You agree with what I am saying yet the poster you quote in post #88 makes the same point yet you are nasty to them in your response. Quite nasty with them too

Read your posts 88 and 90 over to see what I mean

Odd

Well if they will, that's another reason to 'stuff' :)

HEY I MIGHT BE OVERWEIGHT, BUT I'M STILL NOT BRA SIZE lol (oh, wait, nevermind)

Well i can confirm that you could take food from the buffet to eat where ever you wanted on the Epic last week . We would occasionally take out a snack for later and saw lots of people doing the same .Hope this is a help to you all .xx

I think you'll see the larger picture if you read posts 67 and 74. By including that to the others, it gives a much broader view of the conversation. I was polite and agreed with them in 67. The posts you refer to have to do with that poster saying my experience has nothing to do with ALL the other pax. There are 15 suites on the Sky, and many more fleetwide...it was relevant.

Beyond that, your post had a friendly tone. The other lacked tact and was aggressive. If you'll take a second look at the posts I just referenced, I think you will find I was quite consistent.

I'd say that's a NW thing but you live on the sunny side of the street. (CC is lacking an m/f box) :p:p

I enjoy munchin' on some wings in the cabin when I come stumbling back from the casino at 3 or 4 in the morning.. I figure I'll do it Johnny Cash style.. I'll sneak the wings out of O'Sheehans - One piece at a time! :D:D:D

I doubt the staff will enforce this rule especially from the buffet. I'll bring my ziplocs and a big tote. I'll become the proverbial bag lady. No one will stand between me and my pretzel rolls :p

I'm just hoping the new rules are as strictly enforced as the chair hogging rule....I am not too worried because there are ,like fish, many ships on the seas...

That's a good point. I have a feeling that the ship's crew do not enforce many things that upset passengers.

if people stop tipping in the restaurants that are not allowing this, perhaps they will change their policies...however at this point, and i'm platinum, i don't feel any more loyalty to NCL....too much is happening that is really not in the interest of the consumer (is it ever being that NCL is a money making company?); however, Princess, Royal and Celebrity will be delighted to take my money too.

I never understand why not tipping the crew members that serve you,is an answer to a policy the management has put in place, and the poor server is following orders. Want to punish someone, book with a different line, and make it clear here and in the media, why you are choosing a different line.
