How much Engine noise would be heard on Deck 6 AFT cabins (Explorer)

We have just booked explorer and my inlaws are concerned about engine noise in the AFT cabins. We are on Deck 6. Do you think you would actually hear anything here. I said most likely not.

You'll never hear the engines as they are at one of the lowest levels of the ship, in the middle.

 

You might hear some water noise from the wake, and there might be some vibration.

None!!! The engines are waaaaay below the lowest passenger deck...they are below the crew decks...waaaay below!

I agree with Bob, the issue isn't engine noise, it's vibration. I don't think it's for me ... and I'm just basing that on time spent in the diamond lounge on the Grandeur which was aft.

My wife did not do well with the vibration when we were in the aft of the ship.

The vibration is one reason I have never considered an aft cabin.

I agree with the vibration thing. It probably depends somewhat on the ship, but we have been to "cocktail parties" a couple of times in aft cabins and the vibration was very annoying to me. YMMV!!!:)
