gamits Posted May 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) Hoping someone can help me while I am waiting for my PVP to respond. We already have our cruise booked for September. Today Carnival started offering $50 on board credit. I know that I can get a credit if my room rates go down with the type of booking I have. But I am wondering if I could get the OBC? Has anyone ever been able to get the current promo after your cruise was already booked? Edited May 11, 2015 by gamits

FirstTimeCruisr Posted May 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I am booked on the dream for March 2016 and they are offering the samething and I called my PVP and I booked with 1/2 off deposit so I have to pay the rest of my deposit then I was able to get OBC
SadieN Posted May 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2015 You just won't get the $50 OBC. You have to change your fare. Pencil it out, even if it's more, might be a good deal with the OBC. If you booked ES, you'll stay within the program.

gamits Posted May 11, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Thank you all! I left my PVP a message so hopefully I will hear back from her soon. I appreciate each of your input!
JillySue Posted May 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2015 We got a 20 price drop and $30 OBC (3 day cruise) last night. Did the price protection form and had a response within an hour. I put the new price where it asked and "rate includes $30 on board credit" where it asks for "additional comments"
bury me at sea Posted May 11, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Booked Early Saver for March. Price didn't drop today (though we have received one price drop since booking) but did get the 50.00 OBC promotion this morning. TA confirmed it about an hour ago. gamits Posted May 11, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I just talked to my PVP! 4 day cruise so we only got $30 OBC instead of $50 but that is better than a poke in the eye!!:D Watching for price drops on a daily basis! Thank you all for your input/help!

tweetybird617 Posted May 11, 2015 #11 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Just called my PVP. He got me the $50 OBC in a matter of seconds. I love how easy it is to give him a call and it's a done deal. I have his number on speed dial! :D
BTromboneFrack Posted May 11, 2015 #12 Share Posted May 11, 2015 We are booked on the Conquest in December and Carnival just told me I cannot get the $50 onboard credit even though I have early savers because our cabin category is all filled up on that ship. If they still had rooms in our category, they would be able to get us the credit. Anybody have another suggestion or different experience?

You have to price match to your category and since it is sold out then you are not eligible to price match. That is one reason I do not book ES when I am booking a room where there are only a few and they sell out fast. Someone might come a long and say they were able to but I couldn't even upgrade. paradise825 Posted May 11, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Confused. Our price is higher than what we booked as early saver. Can we still get the onboard credit?
bury me at sea Posted May 11, 2015 #15 Share Posted May 11, 2015 If the price is higher and you are booked Early Saver you should be able to get both the price drop and the OBC.
bury me at sea Posted May 11, 2015 #16 Share Posted May 11, 2015 My apologies. I believe I read your post wrong. If the price is now higher than what you paid I don't know why you wouldn't still qualify for the OBC. Check with your TA or your PVP.
paradise825 Posted May 11, 2015 #17 Share Posted May 11, 2015 There was no price drop, only onboard credit, can we still get it?
bury me at sea Posted May 11, 2015 #18 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Paradise, that is exactly what we did with Early Saver. There are still cabins in our category available to book at the same price that we currently have, and we got the 50 OBC this morning.
