alligeek Posted May 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2015 The Port Bermuda webcam FB page just reported that the Dawn ran aground just after leaving Bermuda. Has anyone else heard this? I'm hoping that everyone's ok and they can get things cleared up shortly!

punkincc Posted May 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Wow. I just watched her leave the port. PTZtv says lifeboats have been launched. Hope everything is going to be alright. Could be just boats launched with crew to get a better look at whatever the situation is?
meatball_nyc Posted May 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I don't remember seeing a pilot. Faithful the tugboat usually welcomes the ships to port. Don't remember anything when departing. Portbermudawebcam is out of range.

alligeek Posted May 19, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted May 19, 2015 IIRC they do take a pilot. The water around those reefs is REALLY shallow. Praying for everyone on board and the first responders.... hopefully this isn't more than minor damage.

meatball_nyc Posted May 19, 2015 #19 Share Posted May 19, 2015 There are so many reefs and narrow channels around Bermuda. Tough island for ships in and out.
rayison Posted May 19, 2015 #20 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Liberty of the Seas is moving away from Bermuda at 18 Knots. I doubt they would be sailing away if there was real danger with the other ship.
