The extra bit on Allure's starboard funnel

Apologies if this has already been discussed. They seem to have added an extra bit to Allure's starboard funnel during the dry dock.

 

Anyone know what it is?

 

Had a look for photos of the Oasis and I don't see it.

 

Attached is an original photo of the Allure, and 3 photos from Instagram from the past few days.

My guess would be that it is part of the new scrubber system that Royal is in the process of adding to all its ships over the next few years.

Haven't seen that. Wish we had our resident Chief Engineer online, I'm sure he could give us a good idea. Maybe an exhaust stack for some sort of extra engine.

Looks most likely - starting January 2015, which will explain why Oasis doesn't have it as her dry dock was in October.
