Half moon cay

Looking to do cruise that includes Half Moon Cay the end of January. How likely to be unable to port there due to rough conditions? I've heard winter months are harder to see it.

It's impossible to predict the wave conditions anytime of the year. However, I can tell you I'm 3-0 with HMC and hoping to make it 4-0 in July. :)

 

FYI, I was there in October and March. Good luck because HMC is AMAZING!

We went to HMC in May and November and fwiw we made it both times :)

We went January 2014 and made it. There was a bit of a cold spell Florida down to the Bahamas so it was a bit disappointing. So much so that I came home and booked another cruise for April 2015. Now that day was perfection!

Have been to HMC 2x, both were end of January and both times were AMAZING. Headed back in Nov, can not wait.

My last 2 of 3 attempts to visit HMC were unsuccessful due to weather. One was in September (thunderstorms) and the other was in late December (wind).

 

Winter time seems to produce windier conditions IMO, especially around the Bahamas. And that doesn't bode well for tender ports.

Don't want to jinx myself, but I'm a perfect 8 for 8 at HMC. Fingers crossed for being 9 for 9 come July!!

Man do I feel unlucky. I am 0 for 1.. January 2015 on Liberty we were a NO go, so only Nassau and Detroit err Freeport.

Wish more of CCL cruises would go there

I would be heartbroken to not see HMC but as long as I get there once out of my two tries, I will be happy. I have never been to HMC, Grand Turk or Amber Cove (of course). Knock on wood but I have never missed a port.

HMC and Grand Turk are both WONDERFUL if like beach days or snorkel/scuba activities
